David Foster Wallace is, quite possibly, my all time favorite writer and this is one of his better collections. His non-fiction stuff is always dead on--human and smart and vivid. But for true word lovers, *Inifinite Jest* is a must read. Plus, it can also stop bullets or be used as a doorstop.

True confessions:

1. I can't stand Cormac McCarthy's writing. Same goes for James Agee.

2. I have read every book Lois McMaster Bujold has ever written.

3. In high school, I only read the Cliffs Notes for The Scarlett Letter.

Oh, I'm so ashamed.
