Thursday night was very entertaining. Where else in town are you going to hear Danzig, Slayer, Rammstein and Love & Rockets done for karaoke in one sitting? There were other stuff to like STP, A-ha, Live, Culture Club etc. All in all fun stuff to hear. More importantly, no country, with the exce...

Alternative Karaoke Night

Some of you may remember having karaoke at the Giant Panda and Ivy's and it wasn't infested with the next Faith Hill or Toby Keith wannabes. It was fun because you heard people do entertaining songs without having to sit through country crap. I was in Nashville for a while and found a dive called Sp...

Magic the Gathering T-shirt

A black T-shirt, never worn, size L, bought at Anime Weekend Atlanta at the end of September. The T-shirt says, "What color do you want me to beat you with today?" The five mana symbols are above the quote. $15. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d28/vokarisu/MagicT-Shirt_1.jpg http://i32.p...

Haven't been back on here. Yeah, I saw that they sold out at some point the day after. That really sucks. However, I would check their site from time to time just to see if they open up anymore. There's a possibility of one hundred more tickets getting released, but I don't find message boards infor...

[quote=" Hmm, i can't help but worry about how this is probably an attempt to americanize them, though. I swear, if diru becomes mainstream i'm going to piss on Jack Thompson's hand. Well, i was going to do that anyway, but the point is that MTV played the clever sleazoid video, and that is simply n...

In the midst of my excitement, I had a brainfart. I should've posted the relevant URL. Here it is.

Dir en grey in NYC (Calling all J-rockers!)

Tickets went on sale at the free-will site this morning for the Dir en grey show in NYC on March 21st. I want to go to this, I need to go to this, but I'm not paying for a flight so I'd love to get a carpool group together to go to this and to split the costs of gas and a hotel room. If there are an...

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

I think this movie is worth seeing. It was pretty dark and you would think that Burton directed this flick. Jim Carrey played a complete bastard so well, I wanted to clobber the guy. It may not be good for really young kids. There are some freaky moments with snakes and I saw a parent leaving with t...

This being a Pixar/Disney flick, I'd say it's acceptable for a child between 7 and 10. There's animated violence with heroe's fighting others with some machine gun play. There are some off-screen demises of some heroes. That really pretty much is it. Don't want to give anything major away.

I just got an ad from this site called Red Sun DVD. They are carrying all-Region versions of "Casshern", "Zebraman", and the "House of Flying Daggers", along with many others. I think they used to be called Hong Kong Cinema where I ordered my copy of "Battle Royale". May be worth checking out. https...

The Incredibles

This is a really FUN movie! I recommend it, even at evening prices. The question is: Can you survive the disgustingly cute musical Pixar short at the beginning of the movie.

Also, caught the Episode III trailer before it.

It is based upon "La Foire aux immortels" and "La Femme piège". Two French comics by Enki Bilal. It's very possible it may have been in Heavy Metal magazine. There's a man who falls out of the sky after being in cryogenic storage. He loses a leg and Horus crafts him a new one made of metal.
