It's really not. The terms are used to categorize as a whole. OK. I'm still not quite getting your point, though. If someone has liberal social values but conservative economic values, are they a conservative or a liberal? This is in reference to you telling Spleen that he couldn't be "both at...

Dear Jack, You seem like an intelligent person. Please turn off your television and talk with people outside of your core peer group. I actually I haven't owned a TV in a year and a half. I'm just not getting how you can say everyone is either a liberal or a conservative. It seems at odds with your...

I agree 100 percent. Most libertarians I know are worse than most republicans I know. I don't understand how people don't see that they are conservative. Like with any party, there's a lot of variation. Bill Maher, Dennis Miller, Rev. Ivan Stang, Robert Anton Wilson... lots of people are on the &qu...

You're saying that one cannot be socially liberal but fiscally conservative?

So, what..? Because Bill "Shut up!" O'Reilly wants to decriminalize weed, this makes him a liberal? Yes, it makes him a liberal on certain social issues. He's a libertarian. Spleen said Fox tears apart anyone "remotely liberal". I was just pointing out that that is provably false.

usually if someone gets on fox who is in the least bit liberal they tear em apart.... I'm sick of people perpetuating the urban myth that Fox News is some kind of all-raging-Conservative, all-the-time outlet. A view usually espoused by people who never actually watch it. Try this on: Bill O'Reilly,...

I don't know for certain, but am *pretty* sure this is just bullshit. C'mon, Jack. I know you're smarter than this... Oh, I'm not saying I believe any of that wacky stuff. As we have both admitted, neither of us is actually aware of precisely how "big" or "small" the amount of evidence is, actually, non?

But, the fact is that I don't have time to track down the works cited. Here's the thing: I do not care even remotely what you believe on this subject. I'm perfectly happy with you not believing it. Thus I am most certainly not going to spend the time to dig up things to try and convince you. If you...

Interesting, but it's a lower level graduate paper, from a class completely unrelated to the topic of the course. I suspect it didn't get a good grade. Got anything else, maybe at the doctoral dissertation level or better? The paper itself is not the evidence. I don't need to produce anything more ...

Almost certainly related, that is, you know... if you ignore every single bit of archeological, historical, anthropological and genetic evidence. Wrong. There is substantial evidence for a link between the ancient Egyptian civilization and the Americas. http://www.colostate.edu/Dept/Entomology/cour...

Perhaps it is the fact that girls in general, whether sorostitutes or goth chix(tm), tend to advertise their "ease of use" more blatantly than the guys (in terms of dress, not personality). I mean, frat bar = girls in miniskirts yelling "woo", making out with each other, and grin...
