High School Girl Arrested for "Racism"

I don't see that as racism, I see it as common sense. How can someone help you with schoolwork if they can't communicate with you?
Even if it was racism.... being sent to jail?!?!

Since when did the police get involved in these types of school matters???? What happened to DETENTION? Or parent-teacher conferences? Even they might be extreme in this situation...

"We aim to ensure a caring and tolerant attitude towards people and pupils of all ethnic backgrounds and will not stand for racism in any form."
And the first reaction is to punish, not to teach better communication skills or offer to be a bridge for the parties to use to better understand each other. Just punish. That's that caring & tolerance in action for ya.
Change how you see, not how you look.

I hate that saying: "You can't have your cake and eat it too."
Because what's the point of having cake when you aren't able to savour and enjoy every tastey morsel it has to offer you.....

i bet however that she will wind up with a pretty good sized check when she sues them.
Making a HONDA fast is like coming out of the closet, yeah you might suprise a few people; but in the end.. your still gay.

I do think that punishment was warrented. I mean, what's next all of the Asian students have to sit by themselves? That doesn't promote English language skills, it tells them that it's ok to speak their native language and bullshit through Engish. MUCH like the problem we have today. I agree that police action was radical, but detention and a plain "Sit your ass down. I am the teacher you are the student!" policy would have worked as well. The next thing you know students will refuse to help anyone less "capable" than themselves.

True, true...
It's nobody's fault really for not knowing a language other than their own. If they can't understand it, then that gives good reason to notify someone that it's not something that they can understand... I mean, isn't that one option if you can't comprehend something? How can they learn anything if they can't understand what's being said? If it was really such a huge problem, the student should've been taught that language, without being reprimanded for it..... That's just fucking ridiculous.....
This is idiotic, both because this clearly has nothing to do with racism, and because racism, per se, shouldn't be illegal -- racism is bullshit, but the law has no business criminalizing anyones opinion no mater how ridiculous
How do they get "racism" here anyway? Its purely a mater of appearances, the coincidence that the other students happened to be a different race. There's no racism here, the whole thing is fucked up.
