Got room in here for, according to my kids, a really really old person? (I'm 38.)
Back in the good ol' college days I had the occasional striped hair and as much alt couture as I could muster and was even an award-winning Ninja Turtle thankyewverymuch. Then came love, then came marriage, next you know there was the baby carriage. As an elementary teacher, I just couldn't show up for class in fangs. Go figure. So for a long time I've done the bland mom/school marm look, even though I "retired" from teaching when our second child was born.
I hate bland.
Hubby and I adore exotica, mid-century modern, and tiki. Our family are into Sci Fi, computers, music (alt, techno, darkwave, classical, metal, etc), and general off-kilter fun. I collect lunchboxes and other interesting pop culture ephemera. My husband and son are more analytical/computational/techno; my daughter shares my love of things dark and that go bump in the night. For her birthday I surprised her with a new goth bedroom.
So, need a mom? I run with scissors, let you stay up late, and make REALLY good pumpkin pie...
