Johnson City events or hangouts?

Hello,

I'm an occasional lurker here and have a request for info. If anyone would be so kind as to respond I would greatly appreciate it.

Is there anything going on in the Johnson City (or Tri-Cities) area these days? In particular, is there anything happening between now and Tuesday July 3rd, by chance? Are there any good shops or hangouts? Any alternative/dark lifestyle spots at all?

I'm in town helping me mum with some stuff (she had minor surgery and needs someone around the house for a while), and I would like to check out anything that might be worth seeing or doing. I make it up this way every now and then so events that occur at other times would still be of some interest, but I sadly almost never make it to Knoxville anymore.
