If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

I miss cock rock too... *sigh*

SOW - anyone else hear about the Great White concert last night that set the club on fire. Something like 65 confirmed dead and over 150 injured.
Seems that the bands pyros set the club ablaze at the begining of their show. My only question is was any of the band in the DOA roster of the night?

The guitarist is still missing, and presumed dead.

This is one of those things that let you know just exactly how dangerous fire in a club can be.

This is why I was such a jerk in the lava days when people wanted to use fire, and why some people got yelled at when I found out they ignored me.

It's also one of those things that reminds me that I need to be more careful about doing an exit/extinguisher check everywhere I go.

That was crazy fucked up. Burning alive is one of the WORST ways I can imagine to go. It's right up there with being buried alive, which is just a horrible notion. I heard that they didn't include any pyrotechnics on the list of stage equipment that they would be setting up that night.

Oh, and btw, Bone...if you miss cock rock, there are a couple of decent bands out there right now that still make it...The Toilet Boys, Buckcherry, and Texas Terri...

 It's my understanding that as many people were trampled 2 death while trying 2 escape as were burned alive. I'd rather b burned, personally. I just wanna know who's brilliant idea it was 2 have pyrotechnics for a "hair band" known 2 b being excessively flammable with all of that hairspray

i think its a case of great white still after all these years still thinking like a band that can fill stadiums when in fact they couldnt even pack a club so they go out and try to give a big show and use pyro just dumb i tell you people die cause jack russell cant get the clue that great white was finshed 1991 he should have stayed down in the keys of florida and continued to deep sea fish i have been to a club when a band uses pyro and nothing good comes from it you either burn the club down or burn your fans

Buckcherry fucking rocks! I got their album when i DJ at the Tech radio station.

Yes it sucks that those people were killed but from all the video I've seen of the fire. You've all seen it the pyro's go off and the wall behind the band is CLEARLY ON FIRE! Why didn't someone do something? I may not be the brightest guy around but anythime I've ever been doing anything automotive that could result in a fire I've got my 20lb fire extinguisher within 3 steps. And when I was doing stuff around gasoline (changing fuel lines, gas tanks etc.) I had someone standing near me with the extinguisher in hand pin pulled just in case. I just think that that whole tragedy could have been avoided if people weren't dumb. If their pyro guy was anywhere near on the ball he would have been ready to deal with a fire, regardless of other circumstance.

What about that 4,000,000 gallon gasoline fire in NY?

Any form of pyros in a club that small was just plain dumb. In my old hair band days.....if there was not a sprinkler system, or we were not doing an outside gig.....there was NO pyro., and I mean little flashpots. I also wonder why noone tried to put the fire out......and the patrons all ran to the front exit/entrance. The papers said there were 2 other fire exits. It is sad really.

You never yelled at me or was a jerk to me when I set my little slave boy on fire...but, then again, I am a responsible pyro. Always asked first and had an extinguisher on stage.

Ya know, its not the surprising fact that the pyro set the place on fire....or people were trampled to death.....Or even that people think plagerizing bastards like Buckcherry are good....no no that doesn't "Shock Me".....but what does is the fact that Great White had 200 or nearly 200 people at that club to see them. Now that Rocks Me, but i guess thats why i was never once bitten....or twice shy about saying i dislike Great White.

And I am one of the top two 80s metal heads on this board.

Allthough cock rock is pretty much dead- well i mean, Poison still beats ass live......Ratt rocked it out too...and where i won't hold my breathe on it, i bet Twisted Sister beats ass if they DO a reunion, It really does blow my mind that 200 people came out to see Great White....and hell thats not even counting the ones that made it out the door safe and sound.

Damn that bugs me......what happens next.....Danger Danger has 400 people to see them??....wait.....i'll be more shocked if they had 100 people to see them..................
I'm a big bright shining star......

simple rules, really. and yet, most wouldn't follow them.

I really wanted the extinguisher in someone's hand anytime anything was burning - but almost nobody pulled that one off.
