Atlanta

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Atlanta

Post by The Liberal Vampyre »

Ok, so I know some of you people don't really like the Atlanta scene too much (from the sanctus thread), but regardless, I'm moving there to go to law school in about a month.

Thus, if anyone can give me information about any good Atlanta gothic related websites, forums/message boards, clubs, or whatever, I'd be happy. :)

I've checked out AtlantaGothic.net and AtlantaGoth.com, but quite frankly, both were fairly lousy. AGnet wasn't horrible and did have a little bit of useful information, but it's forum is god awful. And I'd really like to find a forum, b/c I know like a whole 2 people in Atlanta at the moment and I can't seem to find one of them, so I need to find some new friends.

In any case, any help in locating my own kind in my move to ATL would be appreciated. :)

well you can check out the vamp.org site for goth club listings and see what they have in Atlanta, my interests are heading to the Carolinas, apparently they have a pretty good scene over there

I wouldn't mind living in North Carolina, either, truthfully. I was actually looking for a job there before I got accepted into GSU Law School.

I can't really help out with info on the Atlanta scene, but congratulations on your law school acceptance. :)

ewwww .... mailing lists. I hate those things! Guess I'll probably have to stomach them.

I did a quick search on Yahoo! today and the only things of use I came up with were the two sites I already mentioned. Though, I should probably do a more thorough one sometime.

And thank you, shadow dancer. :)

I don't know much about there scene...but I think Atlanta is a cess pool. Junkmans daughter or no Junkmans daughter...

I saw bauhaus and Peter Murphy down there but really didn't talk much to the people.

Candicide might be able to help you out..she's from there.

IM from there and let me tell you, there is no super cohesive goth sscnee liek in knoxville which is a shame for such a large city. However, here is a list of hangouts that might yeild what you are lookling for:

The Chamber
Sanctuary
The highlander Pub
Little Five points and soem dives surrounding it.

good luck, ill be home in Atlanta hopefully around november...providing I survive Iraq heat and RPGs (not games either)

So look me up and Ill giv eya the grand tour
EEK?
OOK!

True, but AtlantaGothic.net is pretty good about listing what and where the weekly nights are, what shows and events are coming up, and where the hang-outs are. I won't be moving back until the first of the year, or I would volunteer to show you around, but DragonCon is coming up on the last weekend of August...maybe you should attend. I know that I'm going to be introducing a few people from here who are moving there around to my friends and acquaintances. A great deal of kids from the Atlanta scene attend the giant con, and every year they have a big Secret Room night at The Chamber on that weekend. It's a great way to introduce yourself to the Atlanta scene.

Oh, and AtlantaGothic.net has an email list, and it's members are really good about letting you know about what's going on.
