Okay, this deserves it's own - if you'll pardon the pun - fucking thread.

Why in the hell does society look down so heavily on masturbation? JC had some very interesting and thoughtful answers in his own thread, but really, people, I want to know your thoughts on this.

my two cents (and be adults here people, post your answers to ibbies question, not to my extreme view on it...)
MASTURBATIONis seen as such a horrible thing because EVERYONE MASTURBATES and everyone is afraid to admit that they MASTURBATE. its like they take it as a personal insult just because they MASTURBATe..... people are taught that is is nasty and bad and disgusting but its NOT. it doesnt mean you cant get laid. it just means you felt like getting off. big fucking deal. the funny thing is that its mostly the christian moral majority (of which theres not one real chirstian in the bunch in my opinion) that says MASTURBATION is wrong but then they say dont have sex. you do one or the other if not both... all mammals MASTURBATE..... this to me is an example of what happens when you misread scripture....You start saying its bad to have orgasms unless your married. thats NOWHERE ive seen in the bible.....masturbating seems to GET RID of the lust in the eyes of most of the weirdos i know.....scripture=STORIES TO HELP GUIDE YOU.... not literals.........

maybe its because there are so many people not conifident or comfortable in their own skin to be able to please themselves. If we cannot please ourselves how can we approve supportively those who can.

I think masturbation should be encouraged, like safe sex or volunteer work...I mean I want billboards that say, "Love Thyself"--god

It seems to me, it may seriously cut down on stupid people breeding.

It used to piss me off to no end when my ex mother in law would slap my sons hand when changing his diaper if he touched himself. I'd much rather him masturbate than get some young girl knocked up. I know it should be taught that its something to do in the privacy of one's room, etc, but geez...its a perfectly natural thing...even if I fear the day I clean behind his bed and find a crusty whack-it rag...*cringe* *puke*

Maybe we should start a foundation for the encouragement of self..uh...stim'u'latin'....We can call it the Iblis Foundation...lol.

Yeah, a lot of people read about Onan in the Bible and somehow extrapolated that masturbation is a sin and/or that birth control is a sin, rather than getting that he was using the withdrawal method to prevent giving his widowed sister-in-law a child, thus insuring himself the entire inheritance from his brother...

The real sin was depriving her of her rights to an heir to her husband's property AND a bit of security for her own old age in the form of a child to support her. Bastard.
