And Boomer hasn't just changed his gender... but his race as well. Wow.

You know...
When I was a kid, I absolutely *loved* this show. In my mind it was Star Wars on TV. Then, when I got older I had these visions of how great it was, etc, etc. Then Sci Fi started playing it. OMG... except for the first 2 hour long "movie" episode, it had to be the worst thing to happen to TV Sci Fi. of course, the 70s in general were just really bad... Buck Rogers (which even when i was a kid thought was pretty lame), Bionic Man (and Woman). It was like the 70s couldn't escape *being* the 70s. Here's a story about a far flung alien race who once visited the Earth and are actually the people who planted life here... and the good news is: THEY LIKE DISCO!

This does look like it will treat the cool concept behind the series with a little more respect, though. But I swear to God, if there's a single scene where they go to a resort planet and there's a rave going on, I'm boycotting Sci Fi.

Yeah while they're at it why dont they just make adama and the daggit female to, and they should switch all the female characters over to female characters too (?????what the hell am i complainig about????????)(just noticed a trend on Sci fi to replace or refocus female characters from male based stories instead of creating or using original female characters, why write about a strong female character when you can just replace a male character, hell you dont even have to change the lines)(?????what the hell this is Sci Fi why do i keeping expecting them to do any thing??????) errr um got lost for a sec umm Battlestar galactica cool with more T/A, cool. Actually Im waiting for the rave scene, daggits on extasy woot.

Well, part of what I heard ...

* The president of the colonies (the one who got killed in the original series) is now a female

* Adama is to be played by Edward James Olmos! Now that's a good idea ... best I have heard out of this remake.

Last friday they showed a extended preview and it looks like they are going with a very different story line (the humans built the cylons, the cylons can now look human and have emotions (saves on costume expense). The special effects look nice. It is done by the guys who did Sci-Fis Dune and children of dune and we know how much they screwd that up, so its still up in the air.

Maybe this should be moved to the goth geek section.

Daaaaaammn the new Viper's look sooo much better than the old series. I can't wait to see what they do with the Cylons.
