Schematics for power vol 1
http://www.ncc-records.com
The schematics for power vol 1 cd is a collection of electronic power noise, pulsating beats, and dark ambience. The bands, despite owing a certain amount of indebtedness to the early experimental visions of lustmord, einsturzende neubauten, and boyd rice, manage to tread innovatively into the future. Oughfunger starts the cd off with “scratch the world,” a song reminiscent of crushing your stereo with a hydraulic press, then placing it into a food processor. Aural blasphemy’s “sonomech 2.0” combines industrial terror with nasty and infectious beats. Hailing from France, Pain Process’s “your pain”
Is the clattering stainless steel soundtrack for unwanted surgery. The dark ambient nightmare of meson’s “long lost forgotten” manages to induce the sensation of blindly crawling through an endless labyrinth under the cacophony of an oil refinery. Idyl’s “blank disk” pulsates with the thunderous collision of machinery in revolt. The grinding noise of Savak’s “crisis” paves the way for rec|use’s “spinal secretion”, the musical equivalent for placing your ear to the track of an oncoming train. H.P.P., from Italy, explores the raw world of distorted rhythm on “left hand balling”. Zymosiz assaults the senses with chronic clamor and percussion on the track “Ophelia”. Lament Configuration’s “last day” fluctuates between brooding ambience and explosive beats. Belgium’s H-Drik (C-Drik) scours the bowels of a massive generator the track “matin incertain”. The cd closes with two percussive tracks: He would drown’s “premeditated act of violence” and Rob’O’tnik’s “first step”.
Though not recommended for the light hearted, the cd contains some of the best electronic noise being produced today.

Lament Configuration

When I first received this album, I wondered who this artist was, however when I’d finished listening to just the first few tracks the question soon became “Why doesn’t everyone know who this is?” Yes, it does have rhythmic noise foundations, however it reaches artfully beyond that in both directions, from strained, haunted melodies to fierce, impassioned noise. What is so touching about this release are the bridges built between these two extremes. This cd carries with it a unique sense of sadness, a poignant overwhelmingly emotional tone. This sentiment bleeds through both beat and melody beautifully, without ego or regret. While the beats are compelling and the melodies moving, what elevates this album above that of just another good rhythmic noise release is this wonderfully emotive, mature quality to the music. You owe it to yourself to own this album
