I give it another five years before it fades into cult movie status. It is absolutely amazing how forgetful the larger populace is in regards to media. Never the less we will see more and more references to come. Then one beutiful day it will die off and I will no longer be tempted to smack people.

I'd say that the Matrix will become what the original Star Wars were, which to be honest i'd say they are almost considered cult classics now. Damn the new movies, although the second one was pretty good.
