Bored? Like books? Like art?

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Bored? Like books? Like art?

Post by vertigo25 »

I think the idea of art and book based 'treasure hunts' is really interesting. I don't know if anyone else thinks this type of thing is cool or not, but I wanted to share some links, and see if there was anyone else here that was into this stuff (or would want to be):

The 1000 Journals Project is one of the first things like this I heard about. My 'net friend Vicki Wong did one of the covers, and told me about it when she found out I wanted to get into geocaching.

That led me to 20 Things, and ultimately to some other things like Nervousness, which is kind of a storehouse of things like this. Unfortunately nervousness isn't taking new memberships right now, and no one is really sure when they will be again.

Erin told me about Bookcrossing a couple weeks back, and I completely forgot about it, but found it again because of an entry on Nervousness. The idea is a lot like Where's George meets a book club.

I also keep saying I'm going to participate in an Artist Trading Card exchange, but I'm lazy. I've made a bunch of cards, but haven't bothered to set up a trade just yet.

I know none of this is very goth, but I know a lot of you are very artistically inclined / bookish, and thought you might find them as interesting as I do.

Hey...oh nevermind..I'll call you.

I *heart* http://www.foundmagazine.com...I guess because I have a tendency to pick up small shiny things I find on the ground...and keep them...gumball machine toys, notes to and from lovers, pictures, etc.
