can anyone tell me how to post pictures that i have saved on my computer, without publishing them to the web? i have puppy pics that everyone wants to see, but the only way i know to do it is to put them on the web through this msn users thing, which doesn't work, and brings pop ups. :banghead:

this sucks, where is wayne from I.T. when i need him.

help! anyone?

The short answer is "you don't"

Now, if it's a new avatar you'd like, you can email it to admin@knoxgothic.com, and we'll put it up for you.

If it's Sanctus pictures, please email them to webmaster@knoxgothic.com or bring them to us on a disk. We'd actually prefer to host them for you, as we can be sure they won't go away if you change service providers.

For other images, you're pretty much on your own - but there's a good chance that somebody else here won't mind hosting them for you.

I found an seemingly decent image host here
All you have to do is this. Sign up at the above link.
Once your account has been created login to it.
Click on the "Create New Folder" button. Enter any name for your folder. Once your folder has been created click on the link to it. Click on the "Upload New Images" button. Next click on the "Browse" button and navigate to the image you wish to upload.
After you have found and selected your image click open. the path to your image file will now appear next to the "Browse" button.
Now click on upload and your image is now stored on an online server. To get the direct address of your image for posting it online. go to the file folder you created and the address will be listed below the image name. If you need anymore help feel free to ask.

have you posted any of the hosted images on kg? any pop ups anywhere you post them? thanks for the link, i will check it out.

Depends, do you have high speed internet or dial up. If you have cable internet you can run a webserver off your computer since Comcast seems to let people keep their IP address indefinitely. If not, then, I could run it off one of my comps for you.

I have recently discovered a new way to get pix online.

1. Go to Quizilla.com
2. Become a member
3. Verify your member status.
4. Upload your images in Jpeg or GIF format.
5. Make a lame or good test and use the image links from that site to post your pix.

It may seem a little confusing...but,it is free.
