roads

Post by Noritha »

ummm yeah. I just watched two wrecks and 4 wheel drive trucks fishtail into each other.

It's like watching figure skating with CARS.

So um if you don't have to PLEASE stay home. Or at least don't come up 16th street cause I'm tired of listening to squealing tires and watching dumbasses plow into each other.

Not that any of you are dumbasses, but it seems they are out in full force tonight, so beware.

suck

Post by Exquisite Mystery »

If I were to hate anything, I would hate people who think they can drive, but can't. As in: "My four wheel drive SUV can drive on anything, including a solid sheet of non-textured ice."
The roads till suck, especially back roads. Knoxville has (finally) decided to yank out the bedamned salt trucks, so some of us may be able to get somewhere soon.
I personally got stuck at work (my first full day mind you), until some stupid people got off the roads. I made it most of the way home. About half-way up the hill, for those of you who know where I live. I hope my car is still there (not smashed or towed) tomorrow.
Grrrrrrrr........

hmm well i had an anxiety atttack at work becasue all the fucking cops kept coming in saying all roads to knox county are shut down, Pellissippi is shut down, ok now its open, ok just the exit, now everyone i\s wrong and everything is a fucking ice age hell.......God I nearly flipped out till I got on Pellissippi to Maryville....except for the ramp I got on....roads weren't tretcherous if you took your time.....but I was severly annoyed thast I was on high alert for nothing *SINGE* however Kingston Pike was in fact a sheet of ice.....put it in second and go people!!!!! and for god sakes dont hit your brakes. I also saw a lot of those SUV shitheads passing me like i was standing still as I was creeping along, oh and a bunch of people not getting out of the way of an ambulance ! SHEESH

I tried to go to lunch at 12 midnight, it was a skating rink near Krogers ,and Corkys on Kingston Pike. Corkys menu got run over by a 4x4 going to fast. Sawyers on Bearden hill has two cars in ditches, and on smashed a telephone pole. luckilly Kingston pike was salted and fine at 330 AM. But Walker springs was still a skating rink. Then Middlebrook was fairly good. Some people got stuck on Papermill for hours today and it was closed. And I heard the West town mall was a wreck till 1am.
We had 15-20 people stuck where I work. Sleeping on floors and such.

so it was a good thing i missed work

Post by The_Lady_Aphrodite »

 I chose to call off work one because I tend to become nervous at the sight of all the idiots here who think that they can drive because they possess a driver's license, and two because my suv began to tilt sideways when spinning...........extremely bad karma.........anyways i am now alot poorer but safe and alive with my lady by my side

so what is on everyone's agenda for tonight?

I hate that saying: "You can't have your cake and eat it too."

Because what's the point of having cake when you aren't able to savour and enjoy every tastey morsel it has to offer you.....

The suck from here is still apparent.

So I can see the interstates, and they look fine.

But 16th is still a solid sheet of ice. There's actually someone standing on the corner motioning people to turn around and not try the hill. I think he's doing people a favor.

Last night I got to watch someone crest the hill at Laurel High doing about 45 mph, fail to slow down, and ram full force into someone doing about 20 cause they knew how to fucking drive.

I'm wondering how many cars are being hit cause they're parked on the streets up here.

Hehe, I just saw a guy iceskate in his sneakers down the road.

The fort truely is a wonderous place to live.

Think I'll take the large format out and take images of people being stupid, oh and maybe some of trees or something.

'Tis true the Fort in the winter time is hilarious! I live next to twelth and last year saw three rednecks in front of their mini van trying to keep it from sliding down eleventh str in front of the cafe'. They failed. It was the funniest shit ever.
