Can I have a drummer roll call
Here.
although it is very doubtful we will be able to attend.
Coor , What are you afraid of ? You seem to be trying to talk folks out of this by trying to tell them that the locals are bad . I have found that as long as you are courteous with them , they will do the same for you
Coor wrote:Dear what are you talking about? I WANT TO GO! I have BEEn there, several times, and I don't consider a place where a man kills his wife and it's consider an "intese domestic disbute," and he only gets a year in jail. Anyways, that's not the point. I am just purposing that we go to a SAFE camping place for EVERYONE. There are tons of camp grounds, why must we go there?

I believe a couple of comments back there was a concern about people under the age of 18 going. It would be in your best intrest or whomever is organizing this event to get a mailing list first of intrested parties. Then once you have a mailing list you can make up a flyer or info about the location and time and a form that would include the price per person, what to bring etc... and it would included a list of what is appropriate and not appropriate to bring (i.e. dogs, animals, children etc). Also if you are doing this locally I will tell you now if you are planning to have a Drum circle or any entertainment and you are doing this at a National park campsite or at a public campsite you might be required to list your intentions with the said party. Some campsites frown on "gatherings" unless you can give them a legit reason and a legit "game plan" on how things are going to be handled like security issues etc.... In past dealings with local gatherings it is best i f you can find someone with private property who does not care what you do on it. Just some friendly advice to take to heart before you get this idea into motion. It will save you a lot of heartache in the end. Most events I have been to have taken a year to plan and has covered all the bases (legal and safe).
2. Hot Springs Spa and Resort, Hot Springs, NC ... this place is just heavenly. You get access to natural hot water spas, a campground nearby, plus the whole town has a nice quiet feel to it. This whole place just gives me good vibes, and it's only an hour and a half east of Knoxville on I-40. http://www.hotspringsspa-nc.com
On a personal note, I am of the opinion that I don't want to be responsible for anyone under the age of 18 who’s parents I don't already know personally and whom I already have a bond with. I don't think that Bone does either. Not that any one has implied this but I would like to state that this isn't intended to be a "high school - let's go hide from our parents in the woods and get fucked up party." Most of us are well beyond those days and do not wish to help facilitate such shenanigans.

I am a single mom, and am afraid to go camping alone without another grownup. I have been looking for a group to go camping with. Could I bring my kids? I would be responsible for them.
(And I;m not the goth one anyway, my daughter is. I can promise that at age 3 she is more darkly beautiful than any magical being you may see in the woods.)

(About the whole hiding in the woods and getting fucked up thing, I don’t do things like that. Just wanna get out of the house and meet the people I talk to -.-)
