Discussed in an earlier post as part of a group now on its own.

Very good. Great story (VERY different from regular animation stories), Beutiful animation (mostly cell) Very much worth the rent (would have been worth seeing in the theatres). Some interesting things, Homeless, Godfather, Christmas (well that one makes sense) all are said in english. When I first saw Japanesse celibrate Christmas back in the 90's it was sort of treated like Valentines day, and to see the change in this movie was very interesting. The Japanesse version of Betovens no. 09 sympthony is worth sticking around to hear while the credits play.

The extra (yeah just one) is okay it tells about the release of the movie, the increasing populatrity of the movies in the US. Shows the VO actors, and yet again shows them doing it backwards with the looping done after the animation (so the mouths dont even fit the japanesse words.) Then the rest of it is just a flirt sesion between the lead Actress and the director.

In My winning the lottery fantasie this is the type of studio I would like to open up and the type of story I would try to do (ie. not a kids cartoon or a all out comedey) for a us audience, try to get american audiences to be willing to watch animation as a vehicle for all types of storie telling.
