scroll down to the paragraph with Sandra Bullock on the top.

Cult fave "Donnie Darko" is getting a second chance in theaters. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the rerelease of the trippy 2001 drama, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a troubled teen, will feature 20 minutes of new footage, plus fresh visual effects and music.

hmm. That's interesting.
Although I think it stands as one of the greatest movies of all time as it is.
I'll go see it anyway.

Oh goodie...ANOTHER movie I get to buy AGAIN. I don't know if I will go for this or not. I have mixed views about extended editions. If they add depth to the movie but were cut down for pacing, I generally prefer the cut (LOTR extended editions for example). If they add material that deserved to be cut in the first place because they add nothing to the film or hurt the characters (See the extended version of Amodeus or Apocalypse Now Redux), then I can do without them. That's what "deleted scenes" features are for on DVD.

I thought Donnie Darko was a great film, but the more you delved into an explanation, the more ridiculous things got. I'll see it in the theatre just to see it on a big screen, but I'm pretty happy with this film as it stands.
