1. interpreter for the deaf (I will learn sign language. oh yes, I will.)
2. candlemaker (y'know those pretty cut ones? those. mmm, hot wax.)
3. professional belly dancer (if only I had any talent at dancing.)
4. massage therapist
5. librarian (oh, to be surrounded by books and tell people to SHUT THE FUCK UP all day. this is the most likely fate for me; #1 would be a useful side skill and #2 a hobby. #3 is a pipe dream, and the market is rather flooded with #4. still want to take the classes, even though it will mean losing my long, gorgeous fingernails.)

If I can ever confirm the phone number I'm going to post it in the Exchange, but there is a morturary (sp) for sale in the city of of the dead (LaFollette) it wat the Roach morturary (my step Grand-father was buried by them). I assume the family must have decided to get out of the business since it would be impossible to go out of busniess buring people in the city of the dead (they run 24/7 there). Also of note this mortuary is mythed to have a slide chute from the mortuary of the Lafollette Hospital (it sits on the Hill above it) to its recieving area (this is a myth of the locals, which includes me during my teen years)

so any way Thought you might be interested.

Very cool! My ex-husband is from Jacksboro and I'm quite familiar with Roach Mortuary.....the reason they are selling is because, several years ago they got busted for reusing caskets! *can we all say GROSS!!!!* Anyway, after that, no one around that area really would have anything to do with them as a funeral home. The hospital is the only thing that has really kept them in biz for this long. I would LOVE to own my own funeral home; however, I know for a fact that it would cost, at least a 1/2 million(after the purchase price) to get it up and going again. :( Being a single mom of 3, I just don't have that kind of pocket change. :(:( Thanx for thinking of me on it, LT!!! :D

My only goals in life are to find love and spark cultural revolution; since jobs don't necessarily lead to the first, the "cultural revolution" thing seems to be the guiding thought behind all "dream jobs". I want to be in a position where I can change things somehow. So with that in mind:

1. Fictional Writer - I'm a good writer, I don't like the day time, and I like seclusion, so this would be a perfect job for me.

2. Professor/ Philosophical, Cultural, or Historical Writer - I love the whole university community because it's one of the few places I have ever felt accepted and it would be a "dream job" because it would allow me to do cultural/historical writing.

3. Musician - Well, I have about a dozen songs half written at this point for my current non-existant band, Coitus For Courtnei. They are all catchy as fuck :), so I think I could pull it off if I could just iron out the details and get a band of like-minded individuals together (which could be difficult). If I could ever find somewhere that I can concentrate (and I can't find anywhere in Atlanta) then I might be able to get this shit going :). But I really like the idea of having a stage to get my message across.

4. Dancer - Honestly, this is what I would enjoy to do more than anything, but the "cultural revolution" aspects of it are more subtle and it would not allow me to change things much. But after reading Modris Ekstein's Rites of Spring; I have become obsessed by the idea of dance as a form of cultural revolution.

5. Nightclub Owner - Really has nothing to do with "love" or "cultural revolution." I just think it would be fun to own and run a nightclub. I've always wanted to build a huge clocktower and start a nightclub in it (called "The Clocktower" naturally) - though, that's a little impractical in terms of cost; but still, a nightclub would be fun.
