Really well! I especially loved it when Samantha Bee gathered all the undecided voters into a room & screamed at them for being idiots who can't choose between two totally different candidates, & then dismissed them all to go drown herself in a bucket.

I didn't get to watch the daily show, but I'm pretty sure it rocked as usual

As stated by a network "Bush seemed to talk to the people. Kerry seemed to be lecturing over the people's heads." Once again, I fear that Kerry's intelligence will keep Bush in office. And Kerry did seem to get his words tied up a bit, Causing him to seem as though he is/was indecisive. And Bush played that card for all it was worth. As did Bush play the "I'm more experienced than you" card. Was glad Kerry brought up N.Korea and Iran's "WMD"'s.
Is it just me or did Kerry seem to be barely human up there. If this guy wants to win, he better get some charisma quick.

Yes, I have wished you were dead. You are just another face in the crowd, someone who brings me suffering, someone I truely hate.

Hrm... I thought Kerry did great. He seemed confident, unflustered by Bush's comments, and knowledgeable about the issues.
I don't see how he ever changed his opinion. His opinion seemed to be that Saddam was a threat, he needed to be disarmed, but as a "last resort" which didn't occur.
I also really liked how he brought up how we are so anti Nuclear Proliferation, but we are developing mini nukes, etc. Why the hell do we think only the top nations should have nukes? If we have them, every other nation has a right to have them, and I don't see us or anyone else dismanteling also liked how he put more emphasis on Afghanistan over Iraq.
I thought he looked much more intelligent than Bush who just kept repeating the same words over and over again....terrorism is the new communism.
I also liked what Kerry said about reaching out to the Muslim world.
He had me at "hello'...LOL.

Agreed that Kerry did a better intellectual job, but his command of the english language is a liability for him when he talks over the common American's head. George still has blue collar appeal, but with big business' check book to support him. I know who I think ought to win, but I'm really worried all the blue haired old ladies, security moms, & NASCAR dads will pull another 4 years out of their asses for W.
As for verbal missteps, that happened to both of them & will probably always happen when live, unscripted debates occur. I do think that Kerry pulled off a very solidly spoken opinion on some of his more criticized issues. I also liked it that Laura Bush was the first to think of walking across the stage at the end to shake the opponent's hand. George just followed her lead. He should do that more often, IMO.

I think you nailed it Buttah. Kerry did very well in my opinion. What he had to do in this debate was show that he was a viable candidate for presidency and more than just "The guy who is not Bush." I think he did that very well.
The Bush trick was to keep repeating tired rhetoric (if you say it enough, they will believe) even when these points were well refuted by Kerry. I think we finally got the definitive answer that we have been waiting to hear about his stance on Iraq. Bravo.
I thought Kerry communicated very well, whereas Bush appeared flustered, even inept at times, and fell back on rhetoric as opposed to answering some questions.
What I got out of the debate was that these are 2 candidates with different philosophies on how the US should lead the world. How you view these opinions is a matter of how you wish to describe them. Both could be viewed in simultaneous positive and negative lights by different people based on how you view their philosophy.
Example 1: Bush could be described by supporters as "decisive"and "driven" or by detractors as "bullheaded" and "obstinate."
Example 2: Kerry could be described by supporters as "adaptable" and "open minded" or by detractors as "flip flopping" and "indecisive."
Biggest surprises for me were Kerry's stance that Buttercup mentioned regardeing nuclear nonproliferation, and the statement that Bush made that a free Iraq would lead to a free Israel - something I'm sure all Muslim militants will be glad to see occur

Thats something that drives me crazy...doesn't the blue collar realize that Republicans lean towards being against Unions and Democrats favor these institutions that protect the blue collar worker? Bush is not supporting them, he's supporting their CEOs.
It drives me crazy whenever I see non rich white men and women (blue collar workers, single moms, students, anyone that isn't holding 2 percent of the wealth)voting Republican....its like...HELLO?!?!?!?

Yeah, I liked how Kerry pointed out that "WE" (and pointed to himself and Bush) didn't need the tax cuts for the rich people.
I also really enjoyed it at the beginning when they were splitting the screen and Bush was looking all hateful while Kerry was talking. I think that was showing his true colors.
What upsets me though is that most of Americans are completely unaware of what is really going down in Iraq and those people will vote for Bush. If you don't know what I mean, click on my signature link and watch some of those animations.
I am glad that Kerry pointed out that Bush is too stingy to buy adequate body armor for our troops because it is the truth. Too many people have died just because of that reason alone. I just wish he would have brought up more info like that. Like how Bush has never attended one single funeral of any of the soldiers.

Yeah, unfortunately, that's how a lot of my family is. They are rigid Republicans BUT they are all lower income or blue-collar workers. I try to get my point across but I get passionate and whoever I am talking to in my family does as well so it ends up in a big argument. I wish there was a way to get through to them but they're too effing pig-headed.

Was it good?
was it bad?
I watched it....
SINCE there was NOTHING ELSE ON!!!!
I would have to say it was debatable....
Bush was all, "things are this way....'cause I say so.....and also Kerry cant make up his mind."
Kerry was all, " The choice to go to war was wrong.....but we are there now so we have to deal with it.......I have a plan.....and he doesn't.....never did."
Nothing new really.
Iraq and Iran......but they caught me anyway.

I caught that word as well. My grammar nazi hackles went up. I'm still not sure what the hell word he made up, but I taped it, so I'm going to try and translate it later.
And for anyone interested in The Daily Show, I HIGHLY recommend Jon Stewart and The Daily Show's new book, America: A citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction. It is brilliant. Just pick it up and read the table of contents. I was literally crying I was laughing so hard.
As far as the debate went, it was a slaughter.
.
Sure, I'll try to be nicer, if you try to be smarter.

Hun, you have no dog in this fight because you were watching wrestling with ME! You barely watched the debate because once commercial break was over, it was back to wrestling.

actually check the polls today man
check the analyst
even the fox people are saying bush just sucked in this debate
plus if you didnt even watch it, you shouldnt really say anything.
the only thing people got on kerry for was talking TOO intellegently for the people.
if Bush had a 3rd grade reading level (as with most of his supporters) i doubt that would have even been said to him.
the retorts that bush were firing were just laughable.
Kerry attacks the bush's coalition, Bush just says HEY YOU FORGOT POLAND! i mean come the fuck on. thats all you got Mr. Prez?
shit.
my mothers fiancee gave around 50,000 bucks to the republician party this year. he called me when the debate was over just to say "i want my goddamn money back". he had to unplug his house phone because all the other rich R's he knew in the area had a party to watch this shit and were all screaming about how much better a canidate Kerry was seeming to them just because Bush is that damn uninformed and railed on 9-11 and WMD's and when he would use his little guilt trip, Kerry shut him out repeatedly and brought up real issues.
Sorry man, I know hes your boy and all, but
A) he dropped the ball
and
B) Kerry just didnt.
and
C) you didnt even fucking watch it, so dont try to act like Bush did so great.

You guys should go watch the video "the faces of frustration" at http://www.democrats.org.
It also lists all the political commentators that pretty much said Kerry came out on top.

as the bumper sticker says
Help bring complete sentances back to the Whitehouse!
Kerry in 2004
Following last nights debate my thoughts are this -
Bush once again managed to show the world what a narrow minded moron he is.
Kerry once again managed to show how badly Bush has fucked things up in the world, but still failed to give any real plan on how to fix anything.
To that end, I give the debate to Kerry.
However at this point I'm still going with Dewey C. Howe in 2004
