Silence...

Post by SilentScreams »

New lurker here from Clarksville, TN. Hoping to come out to Knoxville soon, work schedule permitting. I am a single mother with a 7 yr old little boy whom keeps my hands full, and I work as a Cell Phone Customer Representative (YAY! :-\ )

I LOVE a vast array of musical genres, and dancing absolutely makes me high. Other then that, you will find me online playing MMORPGs. Boring I know. :-)

*i remember posting in some thread that stated "new here" *

So it seems you DID post here.. How silly of me not to have checked first :) I actually have a theory, that 50% of the activity on the board on any given day is from relative newbies who, having found it, go into a burst of posting enthusiasm, get discouraged by the more steady and deliberate pace of the regulars, and drift off to find new amusements.. Now the more experienced members are no doubt used to a fresh flood of relative strangers posting in their threads, and likely pay us no more mind than a sudden summer squall, unpleasant for some, refreshing for others, but quickly over, done with, and soon forgotten. Some few will actually stick around, for whatever earthly reason, and will eventually gain some measure of recognition and perhaps even respect, becoming eventually regulars themselves, although I think joining that group requires at least one exchange of bodily fluids with an existing member.

Regardless, what's the point of hijacking your introduction thread with my random rant? None. It's 1:42 in the morning, I'm supposed to have a point?

CSR for Cellphones huh? Which company? Actually doing face-to-face, or call center work? Just curious, I've bounced around from center to center since I got here, and always like to keep an ear open for new oppurtunities :)

MMORPG's hrmm? What do you play? I've been through EQ, SWG, FFXI, and most recently COH, which I've quit playing due to their breaking out the nerf bat heavy.

Well, I work for AT&T Wireless in a call center. Up until today I was a GSM Customer Care Representative (you talked too much on the phone, went over your minutes, and wanted credits -turn off your stupid phone and shut up- you called me, you dropped your phone in the toiliet and wanted me to give you a free one -like hell- you called me, couldn't setup your voicemail -cuz you were too stupid to follow voice prompts on the phone- you called me). But they took that department out of our call center as of today, so i started training for New Account Services -I get to tell you that I wont activate your phone unless you give me an $800 deposit- And Hopefully friday I find out if I was chosen for a new Team Leader position that I applied for.

Currently I am playing two online games one is called The Realm Online, the other is called Tibia. I have been thru several of the others including Diablo II, Runescape, and DAoC. I am not real big on the 3d gaming world. Although I have wanted to check out COH, and I haven't played FFXI not interested -own all the games for PS/PS2- but not interested in this one for some reason. I am a massive gamer. Love my game systems.. Have to pry them out of my dead cold hands.

I completely understand the nerf bat, they have used that on Realm, so now I just basically stand around and stare at stuff listening to them promise to fix what they screwed up.

Ahh, that sounds lovely.. Nothing better than getting to tell a presumptious prick what a total idiot he is. Talbots is far too nice to their customers in my opinion. Hrmm, shake-ups within a call center never feel good to me, but here's hoping it works out well for you, and good luck on getting that Lead's position.

I've heard of The Realm Online, but for the life of me I can't recall much about it off the top of my head. Tibia's just outright new to me. As for City of Heroes, it's nto a bad game, perse, but I'm not exactly a team player, and they're moving much more towards a team-based design than they had at launch. I'm not inclined towards wasting 2 hours of my free time trying to get a party just so I can do the level grind, an outlook I picked up from years of Muds, so I left. I suppose I'll wait to see what comes along. And in the meantime, maybe live a little :)

Yes, I have wished you were dead. You are just another face in the crowd, someone who brings me suffering, someone I truely hate.

mmorpg..........
im hooked on ffXI worse than any of the mmorpgs ive ever played just over the job / subjob system and the amazing visuals
higher degree of strategy than usual too.
im switching over to galaxies when the expansion comes out... oh yea. city of heros is really fun but its way too dumbed down from a standard mmorpg.

but i feel ya. mmorpgs are too fucking addictive
too big a time sink.

welcome.

FFXI is an incredible play, and with the whole burst system, and the freedom to choose any combination of job/sub, there's really very little to make an actual mistake on. Choosing the wrong race is about the most you can possibly screw up, and I personally love that style of design, it works better than any other I've seen.

On the downside, it's about impossible to friggin' solo.

I thought Jump to Lightspeed was already out.. I haven't played SWG in quite awhile, but for a good long time I had two steady characters, was an officer in my guild, and their leading expert in exploration and animal acquisition.

Was a fun time, all in all, but the grind gets old quick until you realize that they built a full macro/alias engine into the game allowing you to run a script, walk away, and come back fully levelled.
