Three little words.

Three little words. I love you. The words can be scary as hell. What is your interpretation, of what love is? :x

Hmm...

Love is a closeness to somebody. A feeling that the person is to be protected and held more sacred then others.

Scary? You bet because once you love someone you give them ample amunition to destroy you.

Back to a romantic mood...Ladies and Gentlement the origin of love.

Anytime you genuinely care about a person, you love them.

Call me a fucking hippie if you like; it's true. :jesus:

I have the song Origin Of Love on my computer. It's such a great song.

To the Hedwig "Origin of Love" fans I suggest tracking down the original Off broadway version of the song. Much better then the sountrack version, a tad better then the movie version.

Why the bloody hell would they overproduce those songs for the album when the movie version were perfectly edgey beautiful is beyond me.

To me, love is a very vague word and covers a wide variety of things.

It descibes talking on the phone long distance for hours on end with a friend about everything and nothing and not giving a damn about the huge phone bill.

It describes my cat and dog cuddled up with me, and the nice safe cozy feeling i get from that.

It describes how i feel towards my neices and the children of close friends that i would do just about anything to prevent harm from coming to them.

It describes the giddy infactuation feeling that you get when you first start a romantic relationship and think that the person that you are falling for is perfect.

It describes after you have been in a relationship with someone for a long time and discovered that they aren't perfect, and rather than being turned off by that you become ever closer in an even more special way.

It decribes the aching feeling of loss and pillows sopping wet with tears after a relationship fails.

So, love is happiness and pain, taking care of others and being taken care of, loyalty, devotion, trust, intimacy, hormones, lust, safety, belonging, protection, caring, laughing, and crying.....
My tag line sums it up. 3 small words but they say so much.
"The fewer the words, the greater the importance. I love you. Three words. Goodbye. One word. Tinier even than I am, but with such power, such importance.." ~ Trifle

Seriously, I think that love is cherishing someone else's happiness and well-being as much as you do your own.

I agree 100% with this statement.

My opinion on this subject fluctuates.

Currently, I'm convinced that love is just an illusion, a buffer between being alone and feeling despair.

Love... is pain, a pain so deep and dark it rips you to shreds and leaves you bleeding on the sidewalk, a festering, maggot-ridden hunk of meat that is walked over constantly by an uncaring world.

Love... is a soft touch, a sweet kiss, silky hair cascading around smokey eyes that capture the soul, entreating the heart, giving itself into the passion of wanting, of needing.

Love... is the bloodcurdling yowl of an alley cat, caught in the throes of animal passion by a pack of feral toy poodles roaming the streets like a poofy pack of fat, greasy, tattooed, hard-on sporting, semi-drunken desperadoes with a vengeful lust for justice.
Oh sad is the world. but I have Kavorkian's scarf.
