Three Extremes & Oldboy

Post by mehem »

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0420251/

Had the pleasure to watch both of these flicks the past couple of days.Add these two to Haute Tension and Tale of Two Sisters for best of the year. High marks for both 9/10.And for once Takashi's short(Box) isn't the most fucked up,but is the most stunning from a cinematic point of view(like that's a surprise). The award for the most fucked up in this one goes to the second short( Dumplings). And finally the 3rd short (Cut) was directed by the guy who directed Old Boy(as w/ Aja this guy might be one to watch). No spoilers here, must see both

Nice. I'm looking forward to Three Extremes. There is a full length of Dumplings which is supposed to be quite good too.

Oldboy. Wow. I love this movie. The first half moreso, but with a first half like this...Wow. There is one scene that I heard described in video game terms: The best side scrolling fight scene in cinema history. Oh yeah. Oh hells yeah. I just pray that the Nicholas Cage remake rumurs are false.

I just giggled like a school girl during the hammer/teeth scene. And that fight scene your speaking of,holy shit that's a great description(side scroll).I just read about the full version of Dumplings this morning after watching it last night(now I have to get that one :) ).I hope the Cage shit doesn't pan out(so tired of holywood can't stand it), I'm already pissed that they're talking Tale of Two Sisters w/ Tom Cruise(fuuucckk, kill, kill, kill).
