Read about this on Slashdot. It must really suck to live in China. Everything that makes their government look bad or shows Taiwan as being it's own country is immediately banned. I mean our president sucks, but at least I'm allowed to say it without going to jail... for now.

Chinese authorities closed 12,575 net cafes in the closing months of 2004, the country's government said.
According to the official news agency most of the net cafes were closed down because they were operating illegally.
Chinese net cafes operate under a set of strict guidelines and many of those most recently closed broke rules that limit how close they can be to schools.
The move is the latest in a series of steps the government has taken to crack down on "immoral net use".
Is China trying to prove to the world how awful communism can be? Their internet cafes have tighter regulations than liquor stores or adult video stores do in our country. Of course, they require that the internet cafes block pretty much any websites that say anything bad about thier government.
