I'm Jewish. I don't work out. If god had wanted us to bend over, she would have put diamonds on the floor.

Is sadistic revenge worth the tens of thousands of dollars it costs us, though?
I say, if people on death row want to die, let 'em.
i agree. we have more important things to spend our money on.

I suppose death row syndrome is a good way to let a killer realize what he has done......
However, I pitty those people who are falsly accused, because they did nothing wrong and are sitting there everyday knowing that the killer is free while they rot in prison.....awaiting their death.

Fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity.

But oh, what empty calories they are.
Savoring the suffering of another, no matter how "deserved", lowers you to their level.
I was born a bastard - and then I just got worse.

And it also makes me a bitch, but eh. Revenge tastes good and I am a glutton.
If she were a street gang, I'd go to war with her with bottles and chains.

You're my most favorite Russo ever!
My opinion on Death Row isn't exactly a popular one, I guess.
I am completely and totally against it.
There are innocent people on death row.....
Some have been released, and some were proved innocent after they were killed.
I've been asked, 'well, compare the percentages or whatever....it's worth it to make a few mistakes along the way, isn't it?'
I say, hell no! If one innocent person dies, to me that is way too many.
If someone murders another person, I feel they should serve the rest of their wretched lives behind bars with no chance of parole. Believe me, death row is a bad place.....they are suffering there, like they should be.
But, you also have to take in consideration the innocent people. You can't overturn death.
I've felt very strong on this issue practically my whole life. For the most part, it is because I have an uncle on death row. That is what initally made me want to learn about it, and research it when I was younger. I came to the conclusion years ago, that regardless if my uncle were innocent or not, I don't feel it's the right thing to do....to kill a person.
If nothing else, then for the simple fact that once the lever is pulled, there is no going back.
For a great chunk of my life, I didn't know if he was innocent or guilty. I knew he had done bad things in his life before. He himself has told me time and time again....that "I have done some very bad things in my lifetime, and as a Native American, I believe that whatever punishment I receive, if I receive it, will be for those things. If I am to be punished for those bad deeds, then so be it. I say this even though I am innocent of the crime I am convicted of, I know I have received punishment for the other wrongs I have done in my lifetime." (I only say all this, because it has also been said to me 'well, you are just too close to the issue....what if someone in your family were killed? wouldn't you want their murderer to die? ' I've thought on this for years and years. And, no. I wouldn't want them to. You have to distance yourself from it, and look at the big picture. Of course, it would be my first reaction, my human nature....I would think....I want them to die. But, if you really think about it....the whole scheme of things....well....anyway....)
Now, for anyone who is curious, I believe he is innocent. It took lots of research into his case for me to come to that conclusion. His case has been written about in many journals, newspapers and books.
He's had his head shaved, and his last meal served to him twice, both times only hours from the execution, he got a call from the governor for a stay of execution.
And, this is in Florida. Florida is NOTORIOUS for trying to solve their cases in a hurry....close the book, move along. They've done this type of thing to lots of people (which is why there has been interest generated around my uncle's case, and others he is in prison with)
I don't know why I'm trying to explain any of this I guess to try and urge people to find out more about the subject, and to think about the innocent people that are involved....

Why not take it a step further, and give them this choice - but put it on pay-per-view?
That way the prisons can not only save money, but make money as well.

I've been saying this about the "run-of-the-mill" death penalty for ages.
I mean, someone sits around on their ass for 20 years, sucking up tax money (I last read it was on average $40,000 a year, but that was some time ago - it could have fluctated since then), and what recompensation do we get? That they die?
Fuck that.
There are enough sickos out there - search for "snuff films" on google or kazaa or your favorite p2p client if you don't believe me - that would pay high dollar to strangle their gopher while watching something like that.
The only "bad thing", and I use that term very loosely, is that such "Reality Shows" as Fear Factor and its ilk would lose ratings whenever we offed somebody.
Or, hell, even better: put 'em in a cage match. Only make the "cage" about 20 blocks wide. And call the shows, "Manhunt"... kidding! About the name, I mean. They'd get sued by Rockstar. The rest can stay, though. (Too bad, "Running Man" is taken, too.. )
But seriously. I think it'd be a damn good idea. People are bloodthirsty. Give 'em what they want.
