I just don't understand the mentality behind legally binding yourself to someone before you sleep with them. :p

Yeah but you can get a ring! lol
Like I said I just don't understand the mentality behind the whole thing. People try to act holy and say that sex isn't important in a relationship. Im not above saying I need NEED someone who can keep me happy inside the bedroom as well as out.
I don't regret the things that I have done, only the things that I never had the courage to try.

I can understand it, although I have never practiced it in a relationship. I mean, if you are living together, and sleeping together, when you get married then the main change is a ceremony and a piece of paper. The commitment is there, the pledge to spend your lives caring for one another, don't get me wrong, but you'd just be coming back home after the wedding. Abstaining would be cool, difficult as HELL, but cool, as then you would have choosing a new place to live as well as getting to know one another all over again in a REALLY fun way. It would seem, I'd think, like a truly fresh start as opposed to just a re-affirmation of what you've already done. Ehn, my two cents.

Yeah like finding out your new mate enjoys scat. Seriously, what is the point in abstaining from sex? I can understand waiting until a certain level of maturity is reached but just waiting until the wedding night.... It just seems stupid to me. *shrugs*

EWWW! Yeah, as Sun Tzu said, No plan survives first contact with the enemy. I can see it I suppose because I have been in about 5 relationships lastin 2+years, one led to marriage, one to engagement. Abstainance was not involved. I can, however, look back and wonder how things might have been different if we'd waited before having sex. Physical compatability has never been an issue of any relationship I have had (or so I have been told before and after the fact) and I don't think it commonly is when partners pay attention to each others desires and feel free to express their own as well. Again, I am being somewhat of a Devil's advocate here never having even TRIED to resist someone I was in a relationship with. With me, I have past experiences I can factor abstainance into and wonder how they might have changed, although I doubt it would have made much of a difference.
Out of curiosity, Blindboy, when eating a meal consisting of more than one food, do you eat your favorite food first, or last?
Another two cents (anybody got change for a nickel?)

I think that the only thing that *should* change when you get married is a ceremony and piece of paper. Marriage is declaring your love to the world. The love has to be there, all there, beforehand. If you're realtionship isn't all that you want it to be, you can't expect marriage to make it all perfect.
My fiance and I have been together for three years. We waited a little over a year before we had sex. I felt really close to him before we had sex. I didn't think that sex would change our relationship that much, but it did. We are so , so, so much closer now. And I know for sure that he is the man I want to marry. And I can't imagine risking not knowing that until *after* you're married.
...and yeah, I was thinking this was about chastity belts too.
is it just me or does the heart in that pictrue of the abstienance ring look like a screaming face alla “The Screamâ€

I was all about some abstienance, contrary to popular belief, but that was for a lot of reasaons, that had ABSOLUTLY NOTHING to do with religion. If you are a Christian premartial sex is wrong at 13 AND 30...so pick and choose your fights wisely....However, jewlery doesn't prove shit...
Someone can wear a wedding ring. Go to a sex club. Have sex with someone. Get an STD and then give it to their spouse.
JEWLERY JUST MAKES THINGS PUBLIC. IT DOESN'T STOP SHIT.
