ChartreUse It

In the green
my tongue shall
dunk
Created liquor
by French Monks
I dream a dream
so real and wild
I drink the bottle
like a child
the taste so sweet
alive and dandy
it smells of France
it tastes of candy
Most don't know
of this liquor
you will drink
until your sick
and swallow until
you're sicker
The sickly feeling
becomes so absent
you think you may
be drinking absinthe
Your mind so calm
and running crazy
your eyes get heavy
drunken and lazy
So drink a glass
I'm sure you are gonna
the effect much like
some marijuana
I feel so great
I feel alright
I learned of this liquor
from Poppy Z. Brite
in her novel titled
Lost Souls
I drank a fifth
and lost control
I feel so fine
I feel so whole
It is so much better
and so much stronger
Drink some for yourself
and you shall see so.
Live for today, it may be your last.

That made me laugh.

I hope that was the intention.
I was born a bastard - and then I just got worse.

Yes, Jack, it was a giddy drunken attempt of truth to make one laugh. I DID in fact learn about Chartruese from Poppy's novel, though the poem was intended to be silly and fun. Glad to have gotten a laugh, and I hope you enjoyed it.-A.R.
