If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

I figured this would be the best way to get ahold of all of you in one swoop.

An online friend of mine is the singer for the band, Palaxy Tracks. They're touring this area towards the end of September and are looking for venues to play on the 18th or 20th of September.

They're a really great, mostly mellow sounding somewhat shoe-gazer band, but also have some great indie-rock songs. The bands they get compared to the most are Yo La Tengo, Joy Division, Bedhead, and The Smiths. They have sample tracks and reviews at their site. They've had a ton of positive press over the past couple of years from The Onion, Skyscraper, Pop Matters, Punk Planet, Splendid, and others.

Anycow...

I was wondering if you all might know of a good venue for them that would be available on either of those days, and who they should get in touch with.

Any info you all might have would be awesome.
The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus.

Yeah... they probably would be, and it looks like they're available on both of those days...

I like them. The Pilot Light would be all about booking them. Just have the band send them a CD. That's really all there is to it. I doubt they're booked all the way into the end of September already, but you might have them hurry anyway.

Yeah, Lenior @ BlueCats might even be into it. She'd need a CD, Info on the kind of crowds they generally pull and a press pack. From the sound of it though, the Pilot Light is likely the best bet. Sounds like my cup of tea though. I'd love to mix them.

Cool.

Apparently their manager already spoke to Pilot Light and they're now looking at Birmingham. I told him about Blue Cats, though and gave him Lenore's contact info. Also gave him your name, Jason.

They're going to be playing in Chapel Hill on the 21st, so I may end up goin up there. My best friend lives up there and I haven't seen him in years (he hasn't even met Jake).

BTW, I'll be playing one of their songs on my podcast this Monday if you want to hear a full length. It's one of their more "rockin" tunes, though.
