Saw

Post by Zeo »

Every so often a horror film comes along that redefines the genera. Critiques for horror magazines like Rue Morgue and Dark Horizons are giving this one a big thumbs up.
They say it made them sick to their stomach and they loved every last bloody fucking minute of it. We shall see.
It has been compared to movies such as "Seven" and "Cube" but nothing really comes close. It does have a pounding Industrial soundtrack, which is definitely a plus in my book.
It's to be released nation-wide on Oct. 29.

How much blood would you shed to stay alive?

A friend of mine saw it at DragonCon and said it was the scariest thing she'd ever seen in her life. So now I MUST see it.
If she were a street gang, I'd go to war with her with bottles and chains.

Well, I went in with high expectations so I guess this is what I get. I've been waiting to see it for months, since I saw the first trailer. It wasn't terrible, but not all that I had anticipated it to be. The acting was pretty weak, especially toward the end.
Decent ending makes room for a sequel, which I'm sure is already in the works.
Yeah, it is quite a bit like Seven, but not a clone. Nice twisted filthy and bloody taste to it, but it just don't have the vintage.
I wouldn't discourage anyone from going to see it though, it is worth a matinee.
I give it a 6 out of 10 for trying.

I never trust the News Sentinel's film critiques. They give family films high acclaim and always snub horror flicks.
Rue Morgue magazine has the best horror reviews anywhere.

Everybody i know thinks this film is great.I think it is one of the worst films i have seen in the last few years. It failed on every level the acting is so bad but the thing that bothers me the most is it had to many of those "Just shoot his ass you got a gun" moments. Also i hate movies when the killers seem to have endless resources at their disposal to pull off their way to elaborate killings.stupid ass hell but if you liked it you might want to rent THE CELL it has alot of the same elements that made SAW such a piece of crap.
