My Hurricane Relief Program

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

My Hurricane Relief Program

Post by vertigo25 »

I’m donating 50% of all proceeds from two of my affiliate programs to the American Red Cross. This money will also be donated through a matching program. One of the offers (eMusic) costs you nothing, gets you 50 free MP3s, and gives $6.00 to the Hurricane 2005 relief efforts.

You can read more about it at my site http://www.ipodnirvana.com/2005/09/21/my-hurricane-relief-program/
The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus.

I have set up a more concise and permanent page for the charity drive I'm running. You can find it here. If you would like to help out with a link, that’s probably a better page to link to.

I've also set up a Frequently Asked Questions page that gives a lot more details and addresses some concerns that people have expressed.

Okay, I do have to admit that the dreamhost deal is definitely worth it. Even after reading their faqs and in-depth information, I'm still not sure how they make money off of this. Adding an extra gig of bandwidth per week is, as their plan describes, crazy.

(Not that I'm one to complain about that)

If I had the money, I'd sign up for it right now.

As for the eMusic deal, I'm checking into that today...

My biggest question, and one that isn't mentioned on your own faq, is: How long are you planning on keeping this donation program running? I don't have the cash to use the dreamhost donation method now, if I do have the money at a later date, I might want to look you up in the future.

I'm thinking it will be indefinite. It will at least be until the end of the year.
