Silk Screening
I used to say, "if I only had a silk screen I'd make..." So, I bought one about a year ago and have never used it.
Anybody wanna play with me?

It's been... mmmm... almost a year since my failed attempts at screening. I said I would *never* do it again. But I think I'm okay now. So... I'm in.
I'm more about printing on paper, though, rather than textiles.

The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus.

With fabric, you have to use a particular type of ink if it is something that will be washed (like a t-shirt (that's a hint morgan... wash your damn hippy-stink clothes )). For paper and some other mediums, any o'l ink wil do. With paper you want to use a flat or 'square' squeegee, whereas textile squeegees have a soft or 'round' edge.
But everything else is the same.

You know, with KG approval we could put together some KnoxGothic.com little black baby doll tees, and sell them for like barely more than it cost us to mkae them.
Erin was going to do this last year. I know she got a bunch of Ts from her dad. Maybe she'd be willing to let them go at cost...

THis is where she gets her stuff:
http://www.statonwholesale.com/
I generally ask her for prices on certain items
The teeshirts are about 4-6 dollars a piece depending on how many you order at one time.

Hmmm...
What kind of prints did you make? That sounds like it would be a really neat technique for making almost a kind f monoprint look. What kind of ink did you use?
Now I'm all curious... Is there any way we could see them?

They were one-color (white ink on black) t-shirts and patches with my company's logo on them. It was a sample run to show how we could do the shirts in-house if they wanted, so i didn't want to make a permanent screen in case they wanted a different/altered design.

Just used the plain silkscreening for fabric ink from the art store in an opaque white. They have the samples, though, and i have no photos, so unfortunately there's no way for me to show a pic of how they turned out.
