Help needed with Avatar installation problems

Post by Francesca »

OK: This is what it tells me the parameters are:
*************************************
Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 128 pixels, the height no greater than 128 pixels, and the file size no more than 39 KB.
*********************************
I tried to install a bitmap image that I had modified in paint.
It told me to convert the bitmap image to something else so I changed it to a JPG or whatever it said.

Then I made sure it was less than 39K.

I even tried to change the program that reads it to something more common (I originally had it in paint and changed it to internet explorer and adobe 7.0...

After all this, I still keep getting the white box with the red x.

What can I try now? Any help would be appreciated.

Actually I was not pulling it from a url - as there is an option where you can "pull it from your machine" which is what I was trying to do... (the option with the browse button).

Yay! I finally figured it out... didn't have the appropriate software at work and found someting at home on my PC this weekend to resize the image properly.
