The new RZ cd, educated horses (no im not making that title up. the money has offically caused mental herpes) drops march 28th
at the homepage for Robs site http://www.robzombie.com you can hear a bad clip of the song circling all over the net right now, Foxy Foxy.
Now interesting here to me is his consistent BASHING of keyboards and drum machines in EVERY magazine article ive read with him mentioning his music career in the last year. So why did he bother bitching? Well because trying to rediscover his roots is working for him pretty damned well.
So he hired a real drummer again thats not just overdubbing a drum machine. ok thats cool. But he plays like a drum machine until the chorus of the three songs ive heard so far.
So he said hes never using keyboards again and was using more gutiar.LIAR. BUT IN THE BEST WAY.john 5 of manson and solo work is playing guitar, and the solo stuff hes released lately is damned steve vai level playing. Danny Lohner is on it somewhere too.
There are some keyboards but not like your used to hearing. What ive heard keyboard wise is probably just in samples or intros. Nothing in your face that ive heard so far. Hope the rest of the cd is like that.Instead is a return to overdubbed and multipart big ass distorted guitar and the lead sections having a very randy rhodes meeds an industrial CD feel.oh yea, you can hear bass too. yay!
Heres the over view of the three songs ive heard so far.
The mp3s that ive heard (one song with no title from a teaser site, bleed it out, and foxy foxy) all sound like they could bridge White Zombie to the first Rob solo cd. John 5 really fits in well with the old zombie style playing.i really cant stop listening to bleed it out. its the coolest zombie song ive heard in years.foxy foxy is like every other zombie song youve danced to before, just more guitar.
the untitled vamp thing that starts the cd floating around on fan sites and teaser sites is almost exactly like the vamp on the first rob cd, just cooler.
im officially excited for a rob zombie CD, something that i dont recall EVER saying.
Bleed it out can be found in zombies news section on the site, just close the rest of the musical windows.
Foxy Foxy (the shitty webcast version) is the front page of the site.
The unnamed thing is the background of his main page, but curiously some fan sites i found have its cut off after the first verse.. or so it sounded to me anyway.
So he kinda lied about the sound in interviews. Who fucking cares. For once its gonna be solo zombie i dont have to adjust by repeated listening to like. The last album that sounds like white zombie ive prayed for. YES!
so happy hunting.

Geffen Records has set a March 28 release date for the new ROB ZOMBIE album, entitled "Educated Horses". The follow-up to 2001's "The Sinister Urge" was recorded at Los Angeles' Chop Shop Studios with co-producer Scott Humphrey and will include 11 tracks — including an acoustic number called "Death of It All", "Seventeen Year Locusts" and the album's first single, "Foxy, Foxy".
"We were just very inspired this time," Zombie told MTV.com. "It's amazing how different things can be when you work with people who are excited and energetic and just so into it, that they just really inspire you to create things."
ZOMBIE's upcoming tour with LACUNA COIL and BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE will be his first outing since last summer's Ozzfest, where he headlined the second stage with a band that also included former MARILYN MANSON guitarist John 5, drummer Tommy Clufetos and bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson.
"Before Ozzfest, I didn't have any plans to tour again at all. I was sort of sick of it, truthfully. Everything with my last band started to turn ugly and it wasn't that fun," he explained to MTV.com. "With the new band, I just had such a good time that really, as corny as it sounds, it seemed like the old days — we're having a band, we're playing and it's just fun. Once being in a band turns stressful, you go, 'What the f--- am I doing?' It was really fun, and we came off the tour and started making a record and it just clicked. The record ... we were like, 'These are the best songs ever. It would be stupid not to finish it.' "

Thanks for all the info. I have tickets to the March 22 show in Atlanta. We'll see how he does live, that's always the true test of how good the band plays together.

I've only listened to samples on Amazon, but I have to agree..... nothing really new here..... move along, move along, nothing to see....
