Back Pain
Back Pain
I had to wear the most satanic shoes this weekend for my sister's wedding (3 inch patent leather sandals) and I I had them on for almost 10 hours! My back is on FIRE! I dunno if it was the shoes, driving six hours or sleeping in the shitty guest room single bed but I am in major PAIN! Anyone have any suggestions? I can't sleep at all really because it hurts to lay down, stand etc. I will be up for awhile tonight online, so if any has any advice let me know. Thanks guys....
I tried a heating pad etc and nothing is working...son of a bitch.
P.S.
How was Temple? Yeah, I got to dance...the "electric slide and the chicken dance"...some wedding DJ's should be shot! All in all it was alot of fun....but I have two huge slabs to wedding cake left over...there were 220 guests and the cake was over 400 guests....looks like I will be pawning cake off to people for a while seeing as how I can't eat it...talk about a diabetics nightmare! Anyone want any cake? I could bring it to Temple this coming Saturday!

Not too much you can do for bad backpain except wait it out, use Icy-Hot etc, or get some shit from the doc (which I don't really think you'll accomplish at nearly 11 fuckin pm)... I've read that mashing up a red pepper n rubbing it on the affected area somewhat helps, i've never tried it though, so that's not a guarantee... Surely there are some other things you can do, but half the time they're more trouble than it's worth or take alot of damn dough... There are some herbal remedies out there, but most've them are too fucking mild: sage, rosemary, thyme, lavender, and a few other essential oils... I really couldn't tell you where to get them in Knoxville, maybe one of the headshops has them, haha, but they're probably all closed... That and migraine-type headaches on the menu for me today... wouldn't advise massive doses of tylenol etc., usually doesn't even help... If 2 or 3 don't help, 6 more than likely won't help either...
Thanks:) I took a super hot bath and used some icy-hot and it is working to some extent. I have a ton of oils that I use when I make candles...(which I never have time to do anymore) and I have used rosemary and sage before...it works too. Looks like it is another night of insomnia. I heard a rock between the knees works too, I think I will try that ...lol...at least I won't be sleeping alone! how romantic!

Well coming from someone that had a major injury to their back in January I can tell you that what worked for me was those heat therapy packs you can get at the drugstore. I liked them because I could wear them all day long and it kept my back from seizing on me. Also invest in Bio-Freeze it's great for the same thing. I did not have access to pain meds so I took alot of Aleve and that helped. One more important thing ..... Don't lay still MOVE AROUND even if it hurts you have to move or you will get stiff and hurt more. Hope this works for you. Do back strengthening exercises that helps too.
I have a Chiropractor, that only charges what your insurance pays. My insurance pays %60 of a visit, he eats the rest. Plus he will work with you if you have a co-pay. I can get you a referal, and a free visit if you like. I had back surgery two years ago, I wish I had seen a chiropractor before it. As I see people that he works mircles with every day there. He not only adjusts you, but uses the latest therapy, and he and his staff are very friendly. Let me know if you want his name, and number. It's a great clinic.
PS Heat pads work wonders esp. on the lower back. Plus lying with your feet elevated from the knee up take allot of stress off the low back.
Good luck!

No one is completely worthless...you can always serve as a bad example!!!!
switch up hot and cold. DO NOT just do one or the other.
I knocked my back out about 3 or 4 weeks ago BAD.....like couldn't breathe or move for about 5 minutes afterwords bad in a match, with the combination of putting an ice pack, then a hot pack on my back at every spare moment i had, and getting a hot back brace from like walmart, i wrestled a brutal ass match less than one week later.
of course, i struggled thru it, took a week off from doing much of anything, and now i'm good to go.

Thanks guys! I have been taking your advice and yes, the rock worked! I dunno if it was my fossil- like old computer or my typing but I just could not get it right last night! lol...I am still laughing at the post. The heating pad and changing up with cold has been working. You would think after workng as a nurse I would know, but I seriously tried everything and nothing worked. I am better tonight. Riding down the happy lane to Tramadol-land thanks to my doctor. These pain pills are wonderful, the pain just goes away...I mean EVERYTHING goes away. ::sigh:: Maybe I can rest tonight for once!
Thanks again guys....looks like I'll be wearing china flats to the masked ball and temple if this does not get better.

If there is one thing I have learned growing up with nearly constant back pain and from being a DJ for a long time (and hence, standing up for long periods of time) it's:
An investment in well made, comfortable footwear is ALWAYS a good thing.
-and-
Tempur-pedic matresses are awesome.

back pain
the rock is a good idea ,i had back surgery in jan. before i found tha t an inversion table is a gods send it uses your own body weight to decompress the spine and relives the pain but they cost $300, so find someone who 'll loan theirs also potasium is good for cramping back muscles.in pill form or bannas are a great form of potassium. hope it helps
what's the matter with you porcupine? you been actin slugnutty all day? moe howard
I agree with Hardcoregirl, pain killers are yummy but these really kick my ass. After taking one I usually fall asleep and have some strange dreams...but they are helping. It is much better today but sitting in class tonight made it sore again. Tomorrow I have to student teach for a half day and I plan to wear flats at least. The second graders will be taller than me but hey, what can ya do?
Thanks again guys...I am sure this will turn into the continuing saga of "As the back hurts".
God I was full of typos tonight...
