So sew?

Post by Paladin656 »

So if I felt an urge to learn to be crafty and fashionable and such things, where would I start in learning to sew and make stuffs?

Just a general idea, dunno why but had a sudden interest in such things.

There are many links in the Craftygoth forum.

Many books available, many websites.

I'd like to get a crafty club together soon but haven't had a lot of interest shown.

Great links and will check them out in more detail when I'm not at work. (one of the guys just walked by and was like "dude, are you a goth??")

was also looking for something along the line of local classes too. This seems a very hands on thing, and I dunno how much I could soak through a screen.

Check your local fabric store. I know the JoAnn fabrics hear in Nashville have classes throughout the year.

Joann's does offer classes. I am pretty sure that they offer basic sewing classes. Also, sounds silly but if check a local Goodwill sometimes you can find great stuff to rip apart and put back together for both men and women. Good luck! I am ripping apart an old dress and reconstructing it for the masked ball and it is taking forever.
