Thanks for the heads up! I need to replace some pc parts on the kids' machines. Mine are all good... since its a Mac & all. ;)

Seriously, the MacBook Pro is a professional laptop, not something you'd expect to give to an elementary school or even high school kid.

The MacBook is more intended for that market, and lower priced.

And what you DO get for buying a Mac is the best computer for your money.

this is one of those few cases where you really do get what you paid for.

but if one is on a budget... enjoy the tax break and install ubuntu.

Heh, I was trying to resist doing an Ubuntu plug. Somebody did it anyways. :)

:) Ubuntu is a flavor of Linux based off Debian. They are doing a really good job of making a very useable desktop Linux offering.

hell yeah i did; i just saw how nicely google earth integrates with the gui. :mrgreen:
