Revival in Death pt 2--Hearing the Call.

Post by Celestial Dung »

The Corpse ran far into the woods. It's old house was twenty minutes away by road but roughly ten minutes away by the woods. The Corpse didn't like that about modern cities, they altway tended to go the long way around things. His old house was a two story victorian and looked rather pretty, only because he took good care of it. Elizabeth was never one for house work.

After seeing her dead husband smiling at her, Elizabeth slammed the door. He wasn't happy about that.

"Oh come on that's now way to be hun." He started to bang on the door. "I'm not diseased or anything I'm just dead. Not going to hurt you or anything. I just want to come back and live my life again. We were happy weren't we, before I died I mean. I think we can start over again. A whole new life for both of us. It would be a wonderful thng I believe."

Elizabeth didn't answer the door.

"Ok now your just being stupid." the corpse complained. "Just stupid stupid stupid. I mean I'm not like one of those monsteres you see in the horror movie, I'm your husbad. Lizzie I wouldn't hurt you for the world you know, for the whole entire world and all of it's holdings. Let me in Liz."

The Corpse got angry after Elizabeth wouldn't open the door for him. He went to the window and broke it through. He was too angry to notice that he didn't feel any pain breaking through the glass. He ran up to his wife who was hiding behind the green plush couch they had bought three years ago during their anniversery.

"I do not see why you are behaving in this fashion. We have bee n married for 30 years. Just because I am dead gives you no right to treat me like a monster I do not understand you at all. There is nothing about this that I understand."

"Nothing you understand!" Elizabeth screamed. "Your dead! Your not supposed to be all walking around and wanting to go back home. Your supposed to be in the ground playing happy farm for all the worms and maggots."

"That wasn't very nice of you."

"I don't fucking care your not supposed to be running around right now. What did you expect for me to do? You expected this to be some sort of fairy tale ending with me running up to your arms snd we ride off happy into the morgue? This isn't natural, your not natural. It even says in the bible that your not supposed to fuck with dead people."

"I don't think that's possible Liz. I mean, the world fuck wasn't even around back then."

"That doesn't fucker matter." Elizabeth screamed so loud that the next morning her throate would be sore. "I don't want you around. Your dead that's how it's supposed to be. I don't want your fucking presence to disturb the natural order of things. Go."

"But..."

"Go or I'm calling the cops, or someone. I don't know who but I'm calling 911 and if I have to get the firebomb squad in after you then that's the way it has to be. Get out of my house!"

The corpse didn't say anything for a while. He stared at his wife watching her as she breathed. She had a wide eyed look to her, the kind of look people get after screaming themselves to exhaustion. He turned around and walked out the door. He walked back into the woods. He first thought was to make his way back into the graveyard, ask those boys to bury him up again, and then clmb into his casket and let himself rot into oblviion conscinece of the entire ordeal.

But then a revelation. He had never been very religious, he figured god was in his heaven and that was good enough for him. Nothing special about that sort of thing. But not standing in the middle of the forrest with the full moon overhead he saw his predicament most clearly, and knew with a supernatural confidence what was to be expected of him.

"I deserve to live." he said. "I deserve to live as much as anyone else does. Everyone deserves to live"

And that was the true beginning of the entire mess.

this sounds like the start of a good comedy.
We are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.

It's getting there, depending on how awake I am when the bug hits me.

Hmmm...actually this is the second part in a series..maybe it would be a good idea to number these episodes. Don't want to cause confusion today not a very nice day for confusion.

thanks for the pep me up. Better then my own pixie stix into soda.
