I know Where Fairbanks Moved To

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

I know Where Fairbanks Moved To

Post by Arkady »

Just an FYI:

Got a call from Rob today. The paperwork is finally to the point where they can let everyone know what's up...

Apearently, the lease was up at the other venue but the landlord had told Fairbanks they could stay through summer. He then changed his mind suddenly and Fairbanks had to find a new place quickly.

Anyway....

The new location is The Terrace Tap House near the old Java. It's a good sized spot. They are going to remove the devider between the two theaters so it will be one large room with a true stage and dance floor.

Kinda funny actually. I remember sneaking into this place at 16 to go to Rocky Horror.

OMG! That is too funny! Lord I hope for them that Simpson still doesn't own the place. My hubby used to manage the Terrace. That place has soo much potential. OOOO I am excited for them. Are they still gonna let us have Snactus there when they are ready?

Woot! Really close to my apartment and really close to 4620 so we can get even more smashed at pre-spanktus drinks!

Wel I will hope for the best, Whatever that best maybe. Cabing it would suck i.e. no cab=no drinking for me. But if done right I think it would rock. And we all know that movie theaters have the best air-conditioning.

Are the projectors still there? maybe we could actually get them to do a Rocky Horror show every once and a while.
What do you think Nem?

It should be a good location.

And, Arkady, I was more than likely at those shows you were sneaking into. I would have been sitting down front with the majority of the cast. Ah, the good old days..........

Yea.... i was there too.... usually sitting somewhere in the middle getting guys that were old enough to buy me drinks. Ironic how many people i have run into that were there that i never actually met.

OK OK OK wooohooo!!! Drinks BEEEER

Now that you gave us the name where it is going to be, I'm lost as usual Kewl and they want us back :shock:LOL
Is the Terrace Tap house the movie theater that sold beer when I was at UTK ( late 80's early 90's)? LOL I was a dumb jock back then It's true very true  LOL  ... Now if I can remember the location :?: Is it off Homberg or am I very cold on the location. Some one shoot me some near by land marks, that would be great , and hard blow on the head with a cast iron frying pan might help to.

You are correct, sir. It's the same location that you remember.

I acctually went there once when I was about 8 or so. My aunt took me and I remember thinking how cool it was that you could eat real food while watching a movie. ;o)

i, too, went to rocky at terrace tap house. it was in 1990-1993.
i first went with a group of kids from bearden my 8th grade and freshman years and then went with a few kids i knew when i transfered to south-doyle.

i was with julian toms, leah moyer, jeremy babb and some guys i can't remember their names. a few others floated in and out, but those were the four i was with on a regular basis. it was quite fun.

spam and i saw chasing amy there, but it was just "the tap house" by then...

good times.

No, Jay as in tattoojay, as in Justin Harris. The band was Sally Can't Dance, which later turned into The Creeps.
