ick. rough age to deal with. esp if your a step.. id try to find a common ground that you can use to sneak under the radar and use to help out. thats how i usually deal with kids.. works ok usually. ill tell you though... the best advice with kids is 9 out of ten times to ASK IVANNA.she knows all. there is no manual for kids. god i wish there was. but the closest you can get... is ivanna.

No shit! It would make my life sooo much easier! I try explaining things to her on a level that I know she will understand, but sometimes even that is not enough. She is extremely smart, but seriously lacks common sense. THAT is what I have such a hard time dealing with! Perhaps I will speak wih Ivanna. If anyone else has advice for a struggling step-mother of an impossible 10 year old, it would be MOST appericiated!

HAHAHA! I understand that completely! I've already had to paddle that ass once & it's just so weird for me. For one she's almost bigger than I am & second she isn't my real daughter. Ya know? I think it's just something we both have to adjust to.

ya so im having problems with my niece if ivanna wants to give me advice. the problem is: shes too much like me. she doesnt take anything i say seriously, when i tell her to do something like brush her teeth or clean her room, she either gives the "heat-seeking lazor look of death" or laughs at me. its cute cause i do the same thing to people, but its not cute cause, well, its being done to me.
