My opinions on the current brouhaha over our Black Ball

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

If people were coming up with all sorts of crazy ideas about your message board, wouldn't you want to let them know the truth? Erin did a lot of work on Knoxgothic, for free, so I think she's entitled to do whatever she wants to on KG.

Um, your reply is addressed to Karla. Are you suggesting that SHE be grateful or go somewhere else?

Ouch, not cool. I'm thinking that you meant that sentence to adress the community in general. At least I'm hoping.

Maybe. But I thought I read that this all wasn't worth your/her time/energy anymore. You guys have more than defended your board, your ball, etc. What good does it do to start this thread and exacerbate the situation further? Just seems silly, that's all. I'm simply making an observation here.

Oh..of course it wasn't directed at Karla, I was agreeing with her, and continuing the conversation. Me and Karla and Jason and Boo is *tight*. She called me before anyone on Wednesday when she needed a babysitter...:D.

I just reread that and when I say you at the end I was referring to the people bitching but it does sound like I'm saying Karla, so I'm gonna edit it, thanks for pointing that out ophelia.

Yes, it is my goal to not give the naysayers anymore energy, but I posted on this first thing in the morning when I wasn't quite awake yet. The thread was begun because at the time many other threads got locked or deleted, and proper opportunity to explain certain things wasn't given.

Hmm....

This thread has been greatly entertaining. Hopefully we will all read it and understand the lessons herein. Here is what I gathered:

1 - A simple social misstep can cause a lot of complaints. Even from people who would normally support you.
2 - People should go out to meet each other and have a good time, regardless of political presumptions.
3 - People have a tendancy to overreact to sarcastic posts, generally due to a simple misunderstanding.
4 - Deadjester (a.k.a. steviepoo) is a pathological megalomaniac bastard.
5 - And finally Caustic has no music appreciation skills. :-)

After all of this, I will definately be at the Ball. Either everyone will have a grand time or I can sit back and watch the ensueing brawl. It promises to be an interesting night, non-violence preferred. Besides it will be nice to try out another venue and be able to sleep in the following day. Going to work on Monday at 9:30 am is painfull after a long night out. See you all there.

Alright, everybody, it's nice to see us all exercise our freedom of speech...now here's a suggestion. Save the Drama for your Mama, let's fuck it up on Saturday Night!

Um, your quote places the sentence in question in the same paragraph with the comments that are actually directed toward Karla. I'm sure that is a quirk of the forum engine's quote mechanics, and not mere wanton drama-mongering on your part. At least I'm hoping. Something that Buttercup knows well is that Karla, that angel, is a member of the private forum which may not be named, and is DJing at the Black Ball. That she addressed the sentence in question to the general audience of naysayers and not to Karla should be more than amply evident to one as educated and literate as are you.

Seraph, I think you misunderstand. If you will look at the post I originally quoted from Buttercup, it has changed, since she realized that it looked strange and edited it. Read the original in my reply. I am quite aware that Karla is friends with most folks on the board, but not everyone (perhaps newbies) knows that she and Buttercup are friends. Look! We are capable of drama prevention on this board, too. If, perhaps, you would have read Buttercup's replies to me, you would have figured this out before attempting to provoke me. Maybe you should involve yourself in issues that haven't already been resolved. And yes, being literate, I understand that the written word can easily be misconstrued. Just as I am hoping that I am misconstruing your post as an attempt to start "drama" with me.

I feel like such a mercenary DJ, really, seeing as how I don't feel any particular allegiance to either, or any, side.

Hey, Chris says, "You can always trust those whose loyalty can be bought."

No, I'm not starting drama with you. I read the posts and went hastily into defending my friend Morgan. Apologies, my dear.
