I think a lot of it has to do with timing! In addition, I do not currently believe in the concept of a soul mate! In addition, for the part about whom you fall in love with; tonight I am going against what I said, and say no you do not have control of whom you fall in love with. Nevertheless, hell I wish some times that I had had control of whom I fell in love with.

i do not believe there is such a thing as a soul.
Of course there is. You have one on the bottom of each foot.
In my opinion, any two people can be mates given a sufficient quantity of both commonality and diversity.
For soul mate status a balance of one's strengths to another's weaknesses and visa versa.
The trick is to actually be honest about what those strengths and weaknesses actually are. It is much easier to be overly self critical but much harder to be honest about one's strengths. If you have to lie (to yourself or another) you are shooting yourself in the foot before you even begin.
Do you want to be loved for what you are? OR as that mask you wear to hide your true self?
Hey! Where did that soap box come from?

i used to believe eveyone has a soul mate, but then something not so good happened to me and what i perceived as idealist thoughts went away. i now live for now and do what i can to be happy now.
if i spend all my life worrying about what may or may not happen, or whether or not i ahe found my soul mate, i can miss out alot on in life.
now, im not saying everyone elses opinions are wrong and such, what i am saying is this is how it is for me. everyone is different, so we will all answer these questions differently...
