Pain doesn't even begin to go into it. It doesn't effect everyone the same.
For some, the line between pain and pleasure is a micron thick. For others, it's the size of a 6 lane highway.

I had my tongue pierced in the distant past (like 10 years ago).
I thought it hurt worse to bite my tongue, than to have it pierced.
That was my first realization that my pleasure-pain line was VERY wide.

On the flip side I would have to say that it has a lot to do with the artist handling your flesh as well. My tongue didn't hurt at all all I heard was a crunch, and then felt like I was balancing a BB on my tongue for the next 24 hours. It never really swelled either, or bled ( I have heard stories of mouths filling up with blood, eek!)

On my lower back tattoo, the pain was so excruciating I almost passed out from it, and my artist was the one who had the lightest hand. I cannot begin to imagine how much worse it would have hurt had it been anyone else. (He told me afterward that the kidney area is one of the most painful areas to get inked.)

the pain involved wouldn't bother me. or to be more accurate, it wouldn't deter me.

i think that a tattoo would make me look even more goofy.

For my last back piece the pain was excruciating. But its forever, so I can endure a little pain for the permanincy. Most tat people I know feel the same way.

I have a bellybutton piercing, which was done 8 years ago by an apprentice who got the needle stuck in my waistband right after he poked me. Bastard.

I had a tongue piercing, which I had to take out years ago because I burned the roof of my mouth *very* badly and the ball kept re-opening the wound. No, it wasn't pretty. At all. I took the fucker out.

No ink- I've tossed the idea around and have been unable to decide on something I want permanantly stained into my person. I'm *so* indecisive! LOL

anyway i have 2 pearcings nose and navel. actually i just put the nose ring back in after almost 7 years of not wearing it. i assumed for a long time it had grown up... go figure.

hum tats? well i had one very poor quality done with a guitar string and a bottle of ink when i was just a kid. finally had it covered about three years ago and fell in love with the process.

currently i dont want to get anymore for fear i become addicted.

Tongue, lip, 2 ears each side. . . used to have 4 in left ear and a nose ring. All except the tongue self "inflicted"

Was thinking about a prince albert, but have heard horror stories about numbness and other bad things. . . any ideas people?

And yes I did say I have 2 ears on each side. I hear very well...

I got my first and said NEVER EVER AGAIN THE PAIN IS TOO MUCH. I got the second without a moments heasitation. Been fighting this back piece for a couple of years, finally caved as a graduation present to myself.

I know I'm in this group, but how many others actually enjoyed being inked on the back? Mine's down low, which everyone told me would be horrible, but even as the needle was raking over my spine, I was really, honestly comfortable.

I love it. I love the sound, the feel of the tat gun on the skin. I love the process of designing the art and deciding where to put it. It's all part of the ritual to me. The bracelet on my forearm was the most painfull, especially on the underside. It brought tears to my eyes. Yet still it wasn't that bad.

I don't think I'd ever get my tongue pierced... Those of you who know me know just how much I enjoy food, and I wouldn't want to take any chance of nerve damage there.

(I know - it's a small risk. but it's nonzero.)

My back piece really hurt in some places, and felt good in others I'm ready for shading though. My first tat the the outlining hurt bad, but the shading was very different. Just well that tattoo feeling.

Listening to the gun really really gets me jonesing for more ink.

Dude, from your previous comment about numbness and loss of feelings I thought you ment no.

I have a deal with my boys, I keep them clean and uninjured they are cool for me. Its a good approach, at least for me.

Even the thought of getting something stuck through my dick is a bit much. So uh I think you shouldn't get a PA.

Personally, if I were a guy, I would get a frenum piercing, so that I could get one of these.

Well, I've been considering a PA. This consideration has been going on since last summer, but I'm still thinking about it.

I've heard it bleeds a lot, but the pain would not be the most significant factor. The cost is my big issue. I much prefer being able to go out twice a week, than the alternative of not going out for a while because I paid for a PA. I know it sounds stupid, but I must have my wine and 80's music.
