I agree with the vote for "Stones Of Blood"
Or even "The Masque Of Mandagora".....
Both a very spooky.
i agree with both points in regards to the "5 Doctors"...But, I agree with the ideology that watching one Doctor at a time, within his own enviroment, can give newbies more appreciation of the Doctors indivudaly instead...BAm! there are 5 of them!...Which one is the coolest?...They are all awsome within there own rights.
bUt, I agree about the different villians....
Hey Martin...We could always watch "Trial Of A Timelord" all the way through again...HAHAHA!!! Just kidding!!!

Bit of a holy shit post here that I got this morning from some friends. Bullshit or not? Could be, but it is certainly worth mentioning. Who will play the new doctor? Please note that this has NOT been confirmed and has in fact been denied, but stranger things have happened...
Dr who? ... Eddie Izzard is believed to have landed the role
BREAKING NEWS
Dr Izzard act to follow
TRANSVESTITE comic Eddie Izzard will play the new Dr Who when the show returns to TV screens, according to former Time Lord Tom Baker.
Beeb bosses have been keeping the name of the new Doctor under wraps for months.
But this morning actor Tom - who played the role between 1974 and 1981 - spilled the beans in an interview on Radio 5 live.
Asked what the comic would bring to the role, he said: "He has an alien quality.
"Eddie Izzard is so mysterious and strange. He seems like he has lots of secrets. You always feel Eddie Izzard knows something you don't, or has been somewhere you haven't been.
And he added: "I like the way he dresses. He could probably do his own wardrobe."
But an official BBC spokesperson brushed off the claim, saying Baker's comments were purely speculation.
Bookies favourites to land the role remain Jonathan Creek star Alan Davies and Richard E Grant.
The popular sci-fi series will return with a new script penned by Queer As Folk creator Russell T Davies in 2005.

Eddide Izzard was actually considered for the part before...Before Paul McGann....the fact that tom Baker mentioned that it would be Izzard doesn't make it true..Though for the love of gawd I wish it was....It still is speculation. And speculation is something a Whovian takes with a grain of salt.
But, Richard E. Grant was offically annuced on the BBC website a few months ago...Even before the news about the show coming back. And quite personally I am looking forward to his Doctor.
As much as I want Izzard to be him, I feel that it would just be Izzard as the Doctor...like Rowan as the Doctor...Not the DOctor proper. I mean offering a jar of jam instead of a Jelly Baby??? Seriously.

Wild speculation, yes. I'm guessing Baker just mentioned it off the cuff as a neat idea. Any idea who the other 2 people are who are said to be main contenders?

Yeah, I loved the hell out of him when he did the TV movie thing.
You should give the McGann audio adventures a shot...Well written and supurbly voiced...You can almost see him in the green velvet jacket.
Also the on-going 8th Doctor novels are great!!!! He has a bout of amnesia due to the violent regeneration, and searches for his past and future. His emotions are at times off the hilt!!! Great reading!

Richard E. Grant, though already the offical 9th Doctor, will have his adventure broadcasted on BBCI within the next couple of months...This is supposed to be a animation version..much like Batman-esque. They haven't listed him as the next TV Doctor though....Maybe they will throw a curve.

this is one really cool animated adventure. One question: Does anyone know of a way I can convert this to an .avi file? I'd really like to be able to burn this onto a DVD or CD so that I can watch it on my TV. It's really cool!

It does kick muey ass does it not???
As far as the DVD thing goes...It is supposed to have been orginally animated, then flashed for the webcast. once they are done showing all of it....it is supposed to be released on DVD in all of it orginal animated splendour!!! of course yer DVD would have to be formatted to play UK DVD's.

Unfortunately, mine is not ... however my wife has family in New Zealand who may be able to convert it for me, though I am not 100% sure. Or I may actually have a program that can read and convert UK DVD's for Region 1 (hopefully) ... failing that, any chance of a VHS release for this item?
Secondly ... does anyone want to explain to me how the Master came to be in android form, and moreso to the point, an ally of the Doctor? Mind you I like the way the two of them work together now, it's rather interesting.

Well, this adventure takes place at some point halfway throughout this re-gen. As far has to why The Master is an android and why he is kickin' it with The Doctor is still unknown. It appears that The TimeLords are controlling his Tardis and dropping him where ever they want him, maybe they built the MasterDroid and are making The Doctor take him with. BUt, it is apparent that the android still has too much personality that mirrors the Master.
I agree that they have a really good interaction with each other in the webcast. bUt, in the shows history, there where times that they had to help each other out. Of course in the end the Master always schemed to better himself....Which it seemed that he was doing in that webstory as well. Hmmm...Naughty Master.
Jesus Christ!!...I'm a geek.
Love me.

This is great news, though Dead Jester informed me weeks ago. However, it's good to know that this isn't some sick rumour to get hopes up.
Tom Baker was my favorite Doc and but the best companion the Doctor ever had was...Peri Brown. Well, at least for me with Nicola Bryant coming out of the water in "Planet of Fire", yowza!
My favorite episodes are "The Robots of Death", "City of Death", and "The Happiness Patrol".
Now where did I put my sonic screwdriver and my jelly babies...
While I agree with most that the best doctor was Tom Baker, my favorite companion of all time has to be the last one, Ace. She was one of the few female companions who was good for more than screaming at monsters, asking the Doctor dumb questions, or getting herself kidnapped and rescued. She actually had some depth and complexity to her character. I really liked the backstories to her (i.e. the Curse of Fenric and how she hated her mom, how her best friend Manisha died as the result of a hate crime) ... great stuff! I like her kickass attitude when it comes towards blowing things up, as well!
