Why is it that this sounds like old Offspring to me?

Or perhaps Weezer.

nonono
the old offspring stuff, like ignition and their 7inch records sound like pretty good old school punk....... i dont hear alot of that riped in most of it... some it i do (the good charloettes and blink 182''2 of the world..........) but thats not really the emo trend. thats the pop-shit-wannabepunk stuff.
weezer though, yea REALLY bad weezer rip offs are included in most of the emo catalog...

i resent that remark
makes me almost as sick as people that think emo is punk.
but yer cool.

i understand there isn't such a thing as emo pits, but in hardcore pits they kick and punch and do the "airplane". that is why i think hardcore is a harder version of emo... and both versions confuse me so... plus hardcore bands always have to have there band names a sentance, like, "in rememberance of me", and "poison the well"...
i don't think emo is punk.... NOT IN A LONG SHOT!
give me some casualties, subhumans, antischism, the old exploited, crass, and oi polli ... over that whiney emo....

i almost lost all repsect for you with that clip until i saw where your coming from. one of the godfathers of hardcore started emo. but never word it like that again, most purist like myself would destroy you on it.
hardcore has been around since about 78 (misfits, damned, undead) before NYC reformed it as NYC hardcore (enter Ian MacKaye ). emo is shit and is the current trend is a mesh of about 4 failed styles of music.
ao again

??? no. its emo ripped roots of it. dont even put them on the same playing field.

:-D

i don't think you understood what i am trying to say.... either that or i worded it differently than what i was trying to say. sorry if i pissed you off or whatever, but i enjoy the misfits and such other bands, and they aren't the ones that i was referring too.

didnt piss me off, i just wish more people would learn where the music comes from. it doesnt just fall out of the sky. marketing has most people by the balls, if they researched it, theyd see how right i am when i get angry over these things. when i was growing up, marketing was just starting to kill what was left and that wasnt much. we knew better. then the younger kids and the people who jumped to our ship...SANK OUR SHIP. the people whove been doing this for a while are angry for a reason.
nothing personal. ;)

I used to like G.C. when they came out, then they got mushy. I used to like weezer, now I can't stomach it. I like 3 doors down ( the cryptic stuff), Matchbox 20 (the old stuff and the not crazy song) , and I even like some of the pseudopunk/light metal shit that is coming out. The only thing I realy can't stand at this point is that fucking where is the love song. I will show you some love..........BEND OVER.

i agree totally where you are coming from... i suppose i should have said that i get confused about the different jaunras(sp?) of each type of music out there... maybe i didn't mean to say hardcore? maybe i meant something else. ... and maybe this should be a great oppritunity for me to research music huh? i have gone back on a couple of things, mostly what interests me, but not all.

I and others are also guilty of being spelling nazi's, but not all of us were blessed with good spelling or grammar skills. The person at least put (sp?) as to announce they were unsure, and such an odd attempted spelling might not be caught by spell check.

I'm gonna put on my moderator hat and say, let's not try to make people feel self conscious about things as silly as spelling, as long you get the point they were trying to convey-good "enuf".

:D

actually........ I made the post so she would know how to spell it. and I made sure she knew I wasn't doing it to cause any offense.
I don't think it was in any way shape or form degrading, if it was, then I apologize.

Well, I am completely in lust with Davey Havok of AFI & Son Of Sam. I have no idea what to label their music, but he looks goth to me.

Mmmmm, I would really like to do nasty things to that man.

I personaly don't care where the music came from, if I like it...then I like it, end of story.
I think it's petty to analize every song and every artist and every way they wrote a song and yadda yadda...
Not that I'm saying you do. But I just think people think too much about stuff sometimes and get upset about things that really aren't important enough (compared to other things) to get so upset about.
