Think you could play some of my Synthetik FM stuff?
That'd be GREAT.
Yeah, We can prolly do that. I've still got some work to do yet on this beast though. It may be up an ddown for the next day or so while I play with it.
Also, I should warn you all that the server itself isn't a dedicated server. It's actually a seldom used computer that sits on a cable connection at my Mother and Father in laws house. I figured that if the bandwidth is there we might as well use it. That being said, I may have to shut the server down at times if they want their computer back.
All in all though, I am please as punch with the over ease of set up and use. I had a real blast last night.

it sounds pretty good. i am using winamp, and i am not having any connectivity problems. maybe some quality issues. i am listening to nitzer ebb - getting closer on it right now and the sound quality is 40kbps at 22.0hz, which is well under cd quality, but i just noticed that is what they all say, so i guess that is what you are broadcasting at. other than that, i sounds great!! (ok so i am a little obsesive, so what if all my mp3s are rippes at 200kbps vpr?)

Well, the trick is in the bandwidth/processor and memory (serverside) available. Right now I have it set to a max of 10 listeners. I haven't doen much experimenting yet but I am afraid that if I up the bitrate, it will get super choppy for the listner. I may experiment with it in a bit though.
BTW, I don't have anything encoded under 160.

Basically its starts to chop if you hit a high bandwidth sucker, like KGChat...

It says it cannot connect in WMP, WinAmp, and real player, so there's apparently a problem w/ my connection. Any idea how to fix it?

When you put the address in did you use the http:// in front?

Yup. I know it's a connection problem, because it won't even load WMP and RP's home page. But the internet's working, so...?

Shoutcasting is soo much fun

Congrats on doing it! I listened a little bit the other day - some good stuff playing!
A really, really cheap shoutcast server:
512m Ram
1.5-2.0 mhz cpu
40g hd
highspeed connection
You're there.
Less than $300.00
When is KG Radio getting its own page?
