While this does seem cute and adorable, the situation could also be indicative that there's something wrong in her life situation. Looking into what's going on in her life is important in this case.
Not to say there's necessarily anything wrong with the youngling, or how she's acting. There is just the possibility that's something is wrong.
On a more optimistic note: I've always wondered if "goth" does breed true...

What's with the screen name? If you don't want to be mistakingly associated, why are you trusting us with the welfare of your children? Maybe you should ask Dr. Phil instead.
It's not at all that I don't want to be associated, and I am not trusting you with the welfare of my children. i just figured that there were some intelligent people here that could give me some things to think about as I lmake very important parenting decisions that will help create an individual that will be an independant adult woman some day. And I have gotten that. Of course there's some dumb a$$es, too, but I am intelligent enough to sort through that.
if I didn't want to be associated, I would have gone somewhere else! If you want to know details about why I picked that screen name, you can look at my post in the "I'm new here" section, or, I could just tell you that I picked it bc I am not goth, and I would think that since this is a gothic forum, the assumption would be that most people here are goth, and I would not be being honest with everyone. I would feel as if I were masquerading as someone else, I guess.
I do love gothic literature, not so much anything written in the last few centuries, and I was referred here by someone who discovered my insane passion for the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Are you okay with me being different than you? I belive we sometimes learn the most from people that aren;t exactly like us on the surface. But if your mind is closed....

From that narrow perspective, the supposition might be that your daughter's most recent past life ended recently and either her former self-expression was goth-like or the experiences of death are still with her so she is expressing her reaction to them with this behavior. In many cases where profound recollection of past life experiences takes place from two to four years of age, the child will gradually forget as she integrates this life's experiences into her sense of self. As always, the best advice for any parent is: be patient, loving, caring, understanding and supportive. "Cookies need love like everything does."
Thought about this for days. Very very interesting. I guess if I were to sort of take what you said and twist it to fit my own theories about life (don't you love it when people do that?) I would say that she icould be affacted by an energy that as you said either just died or was dark, or had a strong death energy around it. i'm all about God and life and matter and emotions and everything being energy, is this similar to what you were saying, or do you think a spirit (in my words energy) stays intact for many lifetimes? I guess I think that the energy may all return to one pool that new lief energies are drawn from, are you saying that her spirit is a unit that has been together before?
Very interested in these ideas. If you have any quick short cheap (the best way to be) readings or webpages that would give me an over view of these ideas I'd love to warp my mind a little bit more.

For some reason, the board stops notifying me of posts on threads to which I've posted. I get an initial notification, but no more. I'll think about this, gather some interesting links and get right back to you. Thanks for taking an interest in my otherworldly speculations.

I wouldn't worry too much, just pay attention to your child and make sure you know as much as you can about what is going on with her. My daughter went through something semi related to the death thing your daughter seems to have. My daughter was obsessed with blood. She talked about blood constantly. It was just a phase though. This behaviour your daughter is displaying is probably her way of dealing with the ideas and feelings she has about death.

Thanks everyone for the constructive posts. You guys have given me a lot to think about and I love that. I am not nearly as worried as I was when I posted this. I think part of it may have been related to not having seen her dad for awhile (she's a daddy's girl and all of a sudden we didn;t hear from him for 2 mo.), and I think part of it is just her tastes. Thanks for talking to me about this, I needed a place to vent my worries so she wouldn;t pick up on them. I don;t want her to think she is doing anything wrong.

This reminds me of a "3rd Rock From the Sun" episode where Harry and Dick were trapped down a hole. A specialist known as "The Hole" was trying to get them out and Sally had a better idea.
Sally: "We'll fill the hole with water and they'll float to the top."
The Hole: "What if they don't float?"
Sally: <pause> "Well, then they're witches!"
hehehe

*sigh* First of dearie, I'm not a "goth" either, by common deffinition (if there is one? won't get itno that...
) I wear whatever the hell I want, listen to just about everything, and am well aware that I missed the 80's by about 15, 20 years.
I've read your post in the newbie section I think, but there's alot of posts there, I can't remember and/or respond to all of them. There are many people here who aren't goth, most just don't clearly label the fact. Just curious, didn't mean to offend.
This was the first post I had read of yours, and after reading it, I, perhaps mistakingly, assumed you were a random spammer, poking fun of goths. And judging from the "dumb a$$" responses, others thought that too. Sorry I offended you, but take note in that same response you quoted I also gave you my actual thoughts.
Good luck, hope to talk with less hostility in the future...

Vachey--
cool. I think i often come across as hostile when I am not trying to. I think it is my unconscious reaction to having to watch Care Bears and Barney videos from about 6:30 am-9 pm. When the kids go to bed and the TV finally goes off, out come my horns!

ok, first of all...
can't take iblis seriously sometimes. he's silly.
secondly, if you are concerned then you need to examine what she may be watching. my kids have never seen barney, in fact most everything on pbs makes my oldest cringe. possibly change life a little, maybe seek professional help.
