I'm glad to see that the goth community in Knoxville is up on the idea. If anyone of you come to nashville to the Asylum email me and let me know when you may be coming so we can meet up for an interview.

Adam, the director, and I visited the Asylum in Nashville tonight. We met some nice people, but not many talkers. When we come to Knoxville I will post it on Knoxgothic, so you will be aware when we are comming, becuse the knoxville group has seemed to be very willing to interview with us. Thanks!

Junkie, i think it would be better if you were drunk as piss...you're even more opinionated then.

Oh since i never gave an answer back....I'll make more money than passion simply because, Evilution is a more compelling story.

Plus, whats the draw in 15, 10 minute long interviews that will basically all sound the same anyway....I agree certin individuals would scatter away from that, but really, I bet you'd still have 90% gloom n doom. With me, you get a hybrid of everything, nicely thrown together, sorta like my laundry.

In short, my madness makes sense, and is thus (at certin points) genious.....

BTW, I'm an anthropologist in training (senior at UT), and have taken some courses on ethnographic research (researching cultures). Although I don't know if I'd be the best person to interview...I can certainly point you in the direction of those who know what they are talking about and those who woke up yesterday and decided to be spooky.

Arkady I think would be great..he's been involved with this subculture for at least 10 years...

In the protection of other members on this forum, I have to ask what aspects of the goth subculture you are looking to have interviewees discuss (history, fashion, social interaction, music, religion, everyday life, etc.) as well as a general idea of the overview of the film. Forgive me, but there has been a lot of bad publicity of goth scenes across the nation, and it makes many people leery. The more information that you can give people on the film itself; the more apt you are to get great participation on this.

You should be sure to document all the bitter in-fighting. Most goths are nice. But there are many who take the idea of "social vampire" to annoying extremes. You know what I mean? People who sap time, money, and energy off of others. Then there are those who constantly play games with social circles, getting people mad at other people to serve some selfish end. And the worst of the lot is a combination of the two.

Don't get me wrong. The music is good, the drinks are fine, the conversation is pleasant.

I understand how you may seem skeptic, taking example to somethings in the past, but all we want is the facts and the truth. the subjects which you stated, history, fashion, social interaction, music, religion and everyday life are all great topics. We would like to interview people how they are and let the topics spread with each person in how everyone is different but also have the same ideas and some not.

hey spam, thats interesting, kasi and i had discussed doing the same thing, although we had thought about expanding it to a doc on all the southern subcultures as opposed to just the gothic subculture. as for this documentary i would be the worst to interview, i am SO NOT GOTH, hehehe
