i'm not really offended by this thread, more like amused. if there wasn't a temple, i would sit at home and drink too much, run buttnaked into the street, then puke on a cop. TEMPLE SAVED ME
as for temple not being up to par with what some people are used to; deal with it. juggalos don't have a venue in which to express themselves, so be glad someone somewhere plays goth-type music. IT'S TENNESSEE!! what did you expect coming from the big snapple? but anyhoo, all drama aside, i love you motherfuckers. god said cream cheese and lobster, and it was good.

you guys are starting to stick to me like leeches....lol. i have been off and on and off and on this board for two years now, with various names ....
i have been to sanctus twice and the end once. and i hope that one day, you guys might consider me family too....

i live in johnson city tn... i went to bristol a couple of occasions to see bands at 7th street. and all i have to say is, after seeing what all i have seen in johnson city, bristol, and kingsport of the goth scene... how can you expect this state to live up to NYC? people in kingsport, johnson city, and bristol have to pretty much drive to knoxville to get there "goth fix". however, when i was at seventh street the goth tunes were alright.

i am just curious to know... have you ever listened to anything else besides goth? surely to god you didn't wake up listening to goth music. i mean if i listened to goth music all of the time, i am sure i would have to resort to doing herion......or crank.
people have always had a diversity when it comes to various parts of their lives. why not be happy with that diversity?
and as far as i am conserned, 7th street wasn't the best club in upper east tennesse..... maybe in bristol... but not in tennessee.

my credintials are I owned the best club in east Tennessee for 6 years, 7th Street and I closed it with money in my pocket when I wanted to close it. I have a good idea of what is what, I worked for very hugelly successful promoters in Manhattan and learned from the best.

DJ's should get paid, bands should get paid they are worth every cent.

Obviously getting paid isn't the most important thing here...fun is.

Please noone listen to a single word he said. If you accept his 2 cents it will rott your hand off. *end imagry here*
I live in kingsport and visited bristol a few times. Each time I felt disrespected and robbed. Ya know..if that's how you want people to feel when they go to this event..then take his 2 cents. It was far from the best club..unless the best club would mean half the people their are elitests. The same music was played over and over. Horror Punk (which correct me if I'm wrong...I thought it wasn't a real genre...just bands that wanted to sound like the misfits.) and over done crappy street punk.

Now I don't claim to be goth...I've been to sanctus once and to the end (i think)(not that it's the same thing) once. I generally enjoyed myself and the fashion...which...I obviously do not sport. But for the most part I enjoy you folks and I wouldn't like to see what you have going ruined by bad ju ju.

Bev and I had a great time again

But the music was a little sub-par.

hasn't anyone every heard of atmosphere atmosphere atmosphere

I don't think people asked for Christopher lowell's opinion. Plus the only atmosphere I felt at 7th street were drunks trying to fight me and cops everywhere...so if that's the atmosphere you like...go for it.

I must say I agree with Thrall. Aleister and Bev are from a different part of the country, and people communicate differently in different parts of the country. I dare say we probably do suck compared to a large thriving scene in a major city. I feel the commentary was meant constructively, and not as a personal attack. I most everyone in the scene here tends to be very touchy and takes many thinkgs personally that should not be taken personally. I have found Aleister and Bev both to be quite hospitable ;) , and i'm not just saying that because Bev gave me two lap dances  .
Welcome to Knoxville!

i appreciate the fact that he had to drive a long way and that he is used to a more goth scene and he prolly wasnt trying to slam us as bad as it sounded, but at the same time, its best to speak to the natives in their native tounge -
my offer still stands to allow him to dj and for bev to promote her stuff at temple, but please understand, temple is an alternative dance night, not a gothic dance night
never had it, never will
i hope that any and all of you that enjoy a diverse selection of music and like having an active roll in the scene come out and support temple and your local djs, who are also your friends and fellow club goers -

Okay, I'll discard the "Voice Like Morrissey" card in your fate pile.
I am now giggling at how humorous it would be if Morrissey covered "Baby Got Back". That could almost be as good as TLD covering "Oops, I Did It Again".

i think you shouldn't take it personally, we think you are a good guy. We are not tring to hurt your feelings in anyway. We were just saying that the music wasn't what was expected. We love what you are tring to do and we think it is great for knoxville but We have to drive 2 hours there and 2 hours back so we just thought after the first time that it would be more goth.We are not being critical of you in anyway.Believe me we are happy there is something to do on Sat. night every week with cool people. We are not saying in anyway the Temple sucks... cause we don't think that at all.

by the way, what is your direct conection with this venue? just curious...

oooooooooooooooh baby!

i understand bev, and thanks for trying to clear it up :)

my only connection with the venue is that they let me host my thing there on saturdays, i am not owner, part owner, partner or anything else - i simply promote one club night a week there

Gak! The age card is played on me, and it's been so long, I can't recall a full 4 lines of This Corrosion. I actually learned the entire song and could sing it (off key of course) just to have the added chutzpah.

At least I bought the album before I bought the game. :D

photos are more than welcome - we ask only that if someone turns their head or puts their hands up, do not snap the pic

also we would love it if you would share the images so we can post them on the temple website!

I think Temple :roar: ROCKS . For those who misunderstand me, we can talk about it at Temple.
