Actually I am not sure what is the status of autonomic areas. I think that they have their own domestic politics but their foreign politics is same with Denmark.
We have autonomic area too. It's called Aland. It's that tiny island between Finland and Sweden.
In the fact they are just now talking about combining the whole EU's foreign politics as one. and that would be an big step towards EU as an united state. Like United States
