hopefully more places will pick up this policy. sorry, i know a lot of you smoke, but you really don't have the right to make non-smokers like myself have to deal with it. i have always been against indoor smoking. outdoors however, i don't really see how it matters.

I dont see how I am hurting u or anyone else if i rent out a SMOKING room for the night. If u rent a smoking room and then complain of respitory problems, It is because u rented a SMOKING room......I do agree that in some cases smoking should be baned from indors IE hospitals, schools, nursing homes ect.

I do. Somewhere in that same building are non-smoking rooms.

That shit seeps into everything.

And...

If I've paid money...booked non-smoking rooms in a hotel, should I have to walk down a corridor, to my non-smoking room, pass by your smoking room, and breathe that crap in? I think not.

Not only that, but when someone rents a smoking room, they think they can light up in the hallway, on the way out the door...

Also, it kind of sucks trying to walk into a lobby and walk through a cloud of smoke to get there. (for the people that step outside RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DOORS of places...c'mon...step away a little, sheesh!)

Also, I'd say the demand for non smoking rooms is higher, so say someone wants a room at a hotel, they have only a smoking one left, the hotel will likely lose that potential sale of a room..

Plus I'd say it costs them more in removing stained or burned curtains, carpets, bed sheets...not to mention its a fire hazard...

Plus the maids have to breath that crap in....

I was shocked not too long ago. I was on a road trip with my mom and I told her I wouldn't be able to sleep in a smoking room, just the smell of it burns my nostrils and makes me feel disgusting. She said fine, but the guy wouldn't even let a smoker stay in a non-smoking room, even if they wouldn't smoke inside it....he said, because the smell gets on everything.

Its very true. I had some furniture up til recently that still stunk from where it belonged to my grandfather...he died almost 10 years ago...you guessed it, from lung cancer.

ban or dont, but whiny people on both sides are fucking annoying.
id rather pay attention to important shit, and even the dump i took earlier ranks higher than someone whining over a smoking room.

OK. Deal, I will stop driving my car indoors if you stop smoking indoors.

So that orange haze hanging over most cities has nothing to do with this argument?

no it doesn't. because i have nothing against smoking outside. as long as i drive a car with no catalitic converter, or actually any emmissions equipment on it at all except for the pcv, i really have no dog in that fight anyway.

i don't take it as far as hardcore girl, but i def. agree with not smoking in a hotel room. if you want to smoke, go out on the balcony. for one, the ventalation system to a room is not exclusive to that room, it is shared by the rest of the hotel.

besides, there is a greater chance that i will get cancer from second hand smoke than a smoker would for smoking. anything that can be done to motivate people to quit smoking is benificial to the entire society with the excption to the tabacco industry. but who cares, they have been raping us for decades.

I think he was mainly talking about the whining that was involved, not whether he himself smokes or not...

I see your point and it is a good one, some may call me stupid, being that I am a cancer survivor and I still smoke....life is short, so mine might be a lil shorter.

I see in the future that smoking may be made totally illegal, rising costs of healthcare, not to mention medicare. The government may ban smoking when the cost gets too high. But right now, i think i need a smoke!

yes, but you want to smoke because it is a chemical dependancy. its just like being a pothead, crackhead, cokehead, whatever. Only difference is cigs kill your slower and have less of a high.

no im just not gonna whine about it.
i like to smoke socially. i dont the rest of the time.
but the smoking ban would cut back on my hotel partys, so ill go somewhere else.

whining and bitching about it is a waste of time.
ive got an opinion on it, but im not whining about it.
theres a difference. didnt change my mind.

one war in progress, another one started, horrible shit across the globe, job market issues, price of gas, hell even toliet mold all outrank wasting effort into something as stupid as where one can smoke.
if your too fucking lazy to walk somewhere else or plan around it, youve smoked too much already
when they take cig smokers "smoke and annoy" priviliges away i think its hillarious. i mean theres always somewhere you can smoke.
